I swear these new products are just finding ways to feed a common feeling which is that DJing takes no talent. Stop giving people ways to cheat and make money for nothing!
The talent is just changing forms... now you gotta figure out how to actually work all the new hardware and complicated DAWs... if it helps to make a better mix, I don't see the harm in it. I see a problem in DJs thinking they are amazing musicians just because they might use this stuff though
@allsoppy5 And why is that? we used quantize for quite sometime prior to this and there was no real way to use it in a live environment till now. Back in the day we used Tascam multitrack recorders to get the same effect post mix. Then is when mixtape actually meant mixtape (cassettes). I could say the same with everyone else using break records to make their routines with sample after sample segued together on vinyl. I can pretty much teach anyone how to mix....
@allsoppy5 ..... but the real skill comes when knowing when to drop the right track at the right time. Same with creativity. This cannot be taught, and something that is learned over time
ALSO...it doesn't record back-cueing... so if your doing baby scratches..or any type of forward/backward scratches..it only records & recognizes the forward sounds...
What is the point of this really? I'm not dropping my Vestax for a Rane mixer when I can just record my mixes straight in to Live. If I make a mistake and I really want to fix it I can just keep recording and just cut and paste it if I really wanted to go that route. So you can add FX after the fact? Why wouldn't I just use a dynamic LIVE FX unit like a Kp3? I tried the bridge and it's absolutely useless for recording mixes since the "pre-fader" audio is audible all the time.
So let me get this straight if i have the Pioneer 909 i cant record the x fader automation. So whats the point of trying to do a mixtape where you cant cut and mix with your own mixer. Thats cold! Rane have done it to us again! Bridge dont work for us DJ's that prefer to use our own mixer!
cheating
