  • Russian animation makes Disney seem so cold, souldless and superficial. Which 90% of it is.

  • This really feels like Soyuzmultfilm's answer to Disney's "Fantasia" and "Merry Melodies" animations. This may not be as technologically sophisticated as Disney's efforts, but it's just as beautiful, and perhaps even more heart-filled.

  • You can see the Russian's love for ballet in many of these cartoons. Everyone always seems to be dancing.

  • xenspirit48 I know that? But can't you enjoy a damn animation film? >=(

  • Disney use to do the same 122wolf,in 1927 about mickey mouse, disney stole the story from a poor man in new-york...

  • Well said niffiwan....this work is free from the tyranny of the copyright

  • Well said NIFFIWAN,its from the public domain now...i like what eastern european do in that era...great work!!!!!1

  • As always the russians beat Disney when it comes to the feel, much more from the hart.

  • Beautyfull film!

  • This is another example of what communism stole from the world.

Isn't it interesting that the socially acceptable religions were able to maintain, and survive, but the Russian farmer, and the Russian artist starved, and died.

  • My family have all been anti communist for a long time but i dont think all farmers and artists starved. There were many ( like some that worked for soyuzmultfilm )that worked with the system and some that even used it to make themselves very famous ( eg Eisenstein )Farmers could also be cunning and use the system of " dob in your neighbour" to its full potential.

  • The financial rights to thousands of pieces of Russian art-works, including all of these superior animated art-works, are owned by the Russian Orthodox Church, and the the artist couldn't support themselves.

During alleged atheist communism, the innocent, trusting Russian farmers would go to 'confession', and the socially acceptable religions that are the parasites, used 'confession' information as a weapon.

  • You're absolutely right, pavlovich74. If you read the autobiographies of two of the greatest artists during the soviet era, Galina Vishnevskaya and Maya Plisetskaya, you'll find out that state funding not only produced magnificent works of art, but that all artists did not starve. Now that there is no state funding or other patronage system in place, it's actually more difficult for artists. Witness what Bolshoi has gone through.

  • 20 million russians, orthodox christian nominally or actually, jews and muslims died during communism. Mostly Orthodox Christians. Communism attempted to wipe out religion, and when it could not do that it attempted to warped into its own image.

  • All the socially acceptable religions steal from the artist, and the farmer, and the artists of the Russias are the best in the world, realize that the artists, and farmers work was stolen, and used to finance the socially acceptable religions, notice how the socially acceptable religions, that have never worked as farmers, or as artists, for 4,000-years, have managed to survive the 'communism' it created. OI! And the indigenous tribes of the Russias are white people.

  • What are you all smoking? :|

Just so you know, this film is not owned by the Russian Orthodox Church. It's in the public domain.

  • can´t u just watch and enjoy this animation

  • Wonderful animation, but some parts of music are definitely from the "Sleeping Beauty" and "Nutcracker", not only "Swan Lake".

  • stunning!
