Just met you earlier this After noon today, an thank for the swim worm, gave it a try and couldnt catch any bass even thoe that spot I was at i seen big bass jumping and leaping head chasing small fishes, Im still a rookie to bass fishing and want to learn more how to lure fishing! =D
The shad spawn in that cove. Purchase some white flukes and Texas rig them and twitch them through the pockets in the grass. Keep in touch and come out to the fishing with Nick event on the 29th...
Not sure if you meant to say California rig but I did not discuss it in my video lol... The Texas rig is a common way to put a plastic worm onto a hook in a weedless fashion allowing you to toss it into bushes and tall grass without getting it snagged
Instead of using bait a lot of anglers prefer to use lures. Each lure serves a different purpose depending on what the fish are eating and where they are located in the water at the time. For example if the fish are feeding off of the surface a top water lure would be a good choice since they float & can be much easier to use than real floating bait and cast further. Example 2 if the sun is high over head most fish go deep so dragging a plastic worm on the bottom can be a great choice!
For soft plastic worms yes you can, unless you use a spinning reel then you can cast them weightless just fine. For the hard baits you should be able to cast them just fine.
hay im going bass fishing to lake with lots of vegetation its has lots of lily pads the fish that live there perch crappie bluegill trout catfish carp the wether is going to be kinda cloudy that day what kind of lure shod i use? thanks
Top water frogs are a blast in thick vegetation! I would pick up any spro frog like a chug mouth and pointed nose & some 50lb braided line. Light bottoms for light skies and dark for shade & overcast.. Make sure to join the website & check out the foundation its a win win for everyone!
I am not an expert on Pike fishing although I have researched them a bit and for the most part do do fish similar to bass. I think reaction baits would be your best bet like jerk baits and spinnerbaits..
ya dude i think 60lb is a little over kill on bass fishing i fish the susquehanna where theres 4-5 feet catfish from time to time. hell i use 6lb to catch largemouth and small mouth. hell even if im fishing for musky ill only bump up to 8 with a steel leader. good lures but hell thats just plain not needed
@flipsk8ter1080 He meant for using those topwater frog lures. Because the fish hit them so hard the extra weight helps, also because they'll get dragged through heavy weeds
i live in stockton and fish at a little pond at weston ranch and i always use a spinnerbait there i wonder what is the most effective bass lure out there that will help me can u help me ?
Pitching is a under hand cast basically resulting in a silent accurate entry. Flipping is similar with one hand controlling a pendulum of underhand motion by pulling the line out to the side while lifting the rod tip for up close extreme accuracy. Hard to explain it's on my list for videos to make, so make sure to subscribe.
a good lure for spring bass is the matzuo triple play minnow, i have some videos on my channel about it and out of the 12 bass i have caught so far this year 10 have been on this lure, one of them being about 3 pounds and 20 inches long.
wow why is everyone making such a big deal about the 60 pound test A. your supposed to use very high test when frog fishing. B. watch any pro talk about frog fishing they'll talk about using 60-80 braid. C. its his choice he can use whatever he wants
Lol, It's OK they just don't understand the science. If you used 10lb on the CA, Delta casting frogs on grass flats you would be donating lures and damaging the fishery and the fish. Marlin do not drag you into sharp rocks and trees, they are a blue water fish, 100% different science. I would never tell someone the way they are fishing is wrong. I would just suggest the more preferable methods according to science and professional anglers.
Pumpkin tubes on half once jig heads, 8lb fluorocarbon line 7' med/fast action rod,,, make the cast and shake shake shake! (side tip dirty water is kryptonite to small mouth)
I found a tube squid thing just laying on the ground at my local resivior and I can't wait to try it out only problem is it is winter and the lake closest to me is frozen!

Nick, just wanted to say that I've seen a ton of videos on fishing and you do a great job of presenting the information in a clear and precise manner. Keep the videos coming!
I fish for european sea bass. And altho a fair few of the lures you had shown here would probably never get used, there were a few like the senko's etc that definitely will do. It was good to listen to a no BS assessment of what the is, does and how its used etc. So much better than an over acting salesperson, doing their best to get you to spend your money on their product.
Once again, thanks for your honest opinions and well presented work.
i love heavy braid. i use 35lb Stren sinking braid. it has the thickness of 10lb mono and holds up on any bass i hook into. even musky. i cant stand flouro, its just too sensitive. even casting a plastic worm with a small splitshot will snap the line.
i fish lizard, weedless across weeds and i just got my biggest largie of 20" 3.5lb. fucking annialated it. PIKE love 'em too. i cant find the same model that i bought tho :/

It's a method of casting close. Allowing the angler complete control over accuracy. Look up my bait casting target practice video I am doing it in the end of the video...
have you heard of Huddleston Deluxe? They've got some of the best crawdad imitation baits..looks exactly like a craw...might wanna check it out, great video (thumbs up)
For some reason, i feel like i catch 70 percent of my bass on lizards which are mostly Zoom Magnum lizards and regular 6 inch versions in natural colors. Its safe to say i have not been counting every fish i caught but i would be willing to bet a couple thousand.
@ZiggyMilquetoast ppl use 60lb to catch 5-10lb bass, its just that braid is super thin and u can get away with heavy weight, plus theres usually alot of weeds that come with a bass in heavy cover.
can you fish bass from the shore or only like cat or trout......cuz theres a lake thats a bass habitat so i wanna know if u can fish em' from da shore......please reply...nice advice 5 stars
60 pound test!?! what are you fishing for marlin? i catch 8 pound bass on 10 pound test... you never need to go over 20 pound test bass fishing... i guess you dont fight the fish you just reel them in, well me i like to fish for fun not to reel bass in like a lure
@cleemeyer1 There are a lot of reasons why you should use heavier line. Flipping jigs into heavier cover for one. I'll use 60lb braid so I can get my jig out if it gets hung up and I'll be able to muscle big fish out of trees with out having to re tie my line after every fish. Braid might be a bit more expensive in the short run, but it lasts longer than mono and it will save you a ton on lost lures.
Your rite you dont ever wanna go over 20lb test with a mono line, but braid line has such a smaller line dia then a mono you'd be stupid not have the extra back bone you need to pull bass outa the think weeds n cover and with almost no stretch u get some insane hook sets from long distance. 50-60lb braid OWNS
@cleemeyer1 Its braid, the fish are swimming through the slop and believe me, ur line can break, i use 40lb braid for frogs, 65 works perfectly as well.
okay i own a chatterbait and i was wondering what the best conditions are to use it and what terrain to use it in like heavy cover, open water, dark or clear i just dont know
hey im a big fan of fishing and i love watching ure videos and i got a question for u do the small do the mini tubes work good for bass or r they to small?
i dont know if i just wasnt payin that much attention or not but i noticed u didnt seem to go over the finese bait .. like for example i just piucked up a luncker city slug-o and was wondering if u got n e tips and when and where is beest for them?
I don't fish the SlugO's on my finese gear i bait cast them & work them like a jerk bait & mostly for Stripers not large mouth.. I nose hook them in pairs works great!
i use them on my baitcaster as well( i only have a lil cheap shakespear one that i was given by a freind) adn i rig them the way that back of the package and use them for bas.. is that not what there ment for i have seen some bass fisherman use them so i was just wondering
They eat the same things turtles do a lot of the leg work for me,, but if the turtles are sun bathing that rule does not apply.. in water good bass fishing,, Out bad lol
No, sorry, I was too excited to even think about pics. And we ate them right after brought them home. Oh by the way do you have a video on how to fillet? I think I could have gotten more off of them but wasn't sure how. Thanks again.
hey. i have always used colorless or ivisible mono or flurocarbon line . i just recently bought a hi vis gold, stren line . will i catch less fish due to the line visibility or is it just a myth? thanks..
the swim baits you showed arent going to get alot of bass but will get big bass /fish because it looks like live bait so they wont eat it out of agression or reaction they will bite it if there hungry. big bass are often hungry
Hi. First of all I'd like to thank you for the posts. I'm sure they took a long time to make and put on. I am a new fisherman just starting out so I fish off shore. Any tips fishing from the bank in a lake? Thanks again for the posts.

I'll use 60lb braid so I can get my jig out if it gets hung up and I'll be able to muscle big fish out of trees with out having to re tie my line after every fish. Braid might be a bit more expensive in the short run, but it lasts longer than mono and it will save you a ton on lost lures.
Rayrraff 1 year ago
Your rite you dont ever wanna go over 20lb test with a mono line, but braid line has such a smaller line dia then a mono you'd be stupid not have the extra back bone you need to pull bass outa the think weeds n cover and with almost no stretch u get some insane hook sets from long distance. 50-60lb braid OWNS

@cleemeyer1 shut up and fish! let people use what they want. go try red ants... it will catch ya a big one!!
PiNkTaCo691 1 year ago
@cleemeyer1 maybe you didnt hear he was using braid, because that doesnt stretch like other lines so it requires a higher poundage
shootinshotguns 1 year ago
@cleemeyer1 Its braid, the fish are swimming through the slop and believe me, ur line can break, i use 40lb braid for frogs, 65 works perfectly as well.

SORGENSxKAMMER 2 years ago
They eat the same things turtles do a lot of the leg work for me,, but if the turtles are sun bathing that rule does not apply.. in water good bass fishing,, Out bad lol

were i go fishing thier are patches of seaweed and its about 7ft deep. what do u recremened for me
mikenavy11 2 years ago
Weedless jigs pitch & flip,, Lipless crank baits to rip the top of the grass & spinner baits for the lanes in between!
InformativeFisherman 2 years ago
the swim baits you showed arent going to get alot of bass but will get big bass /fish because it looks like live bait so they wont eat it out of agression or reaction they will bite it if there hungry. big bass are often hungry

Hi. First of all I'd like to thank you for the posts. I'm sure they took a long time to make and put on. I am a new fisherman just starting out so I fish off shore. Any tips fishing from the bank in a lake? Thanks again for the posts.
