small inconvenience ....he isn't there all day....go yell at the road crews who cause traffic for days just so the city can meet their quota.......and fyi you're paying for them to do that unlike this truck here :)
seems to me the truck would block the street eather way. park on the street , block the lane or the way the river did it. im sure someone would pew pew mew mew eather way.
@samten10a then your state should write the ticket to the people that have there lot so small a truck cant get in.If you dont do this in chicago then people dont get there stuff
It's not easy man sometimes there is no right answer we try to be as thoughtful as we can but just have to do what you have to do I bet you didn't even try to work anything out with him did you you was to busy getting your camcorder
@edd411 as do i. the parking area he shows via his calculator. theres not enough room. instead of recording it on his phone he could have called the cops if he felt that badly about it.
@scubahsteve "just doing his job" is not an excuse for dangerous and irresponsible parking like that. Maybe the company should understand the needs of small businesses and send a smaller box truck or even a shorter trailer rather than an 18 wheeler which needs to block entire lanes of traffic, as well as entire parking lots just to deliver food. What he is doing is illegal, and there are no two ways around that.
@boosteddiesel ... What a nice thing to say about the people who make your paydays possible. A typical diesel mechanic is fat, dirty, smells bad, and can't change an air filter without help. What a twit.
@boosteddiesel Well if your like the "typical" mechanic who works on my truck, i will usually have to bring it back several times to get it fixed right again. Also have some decency, don't get grease on my floor and in my seat.
I drive a truck... I have to do that same thing, its not or fault the delivery area sucks. Then people like u make it harder. Have a little understand
delivery truck unwritten rules.this is why all deliveries useally have to done by 5:00.FLASHERS ON back it in set brakes deliver.not a cop in the world would back you up.
Your little bitchfest kinda backfired on you huh? I've been with that company for 7 years and I'll tell you this, I'm not rolling A THING from the street whenever I can back up near the door. Get over it. For some reason it takes an 18 wheeler? Ya thinking maybe because the bar u live above just might not be his only stop that day? You must be a yankee...
y complain about the truck. like you didnt know that the restaurant gets deliveries? where else could he have parked? in the street? he still wouldve blocked traffic. next time talk to the restaurant if there s no where elsehe can deliver y have two choices deak w/it or move
Im just not feeling very sorry for you...We all appreciate cheap food here in the United States yet complain about the system that makes it available. Makes no sense.
Yep its no bargain driving a truck. He has a ramp in the back. Im sure if someone was pulling out when he was pulling in he would let them out first. People want you to park down the street and run everything a mile in. I work delivering beer in Boston and its sucks. I feel bad for these food service guys they work alone and very hard. Us truck drivers have no breaks we work non stop until we are done. We are on the road before you wake up and still out there when you come home.
All these companies are getting rid of the smaller trucks and loading these trailers up with 20 to 30 stops to save money. The companies don`t care what the driver has to go throught to deliver. You don`t have time to worry about where you park if you want to finish in the 14 hours that the DOT allows you.I work 12 to 14 hours a day as a truckdriver never stopping all day.,not even for lunch. This is how we have to work to get the job done.
that is pretty lazy...he could have at least snugged up to the edge of the lot allowing cars to get in and out. As for sticking out into traffic there isnt a whole lot you can do. I personally would have angled my cab to avoid taking up the whole lane.
When will people understand that the driver is the last person who wants to be in a predicament like this?

try asking him to move. You'ld be amazed. He's just doing his job.The bar could request a smaller truck for the delivery. Don't blame the driver.

Thats awesome parking.....Whats your problem?
Billibongbaxy 4 months ago
In my state parking like that is careless driving charge and losse of license the only problem is the cops don’t enforce it often.

would he have taken up less of the lane he was blocking if he had stayed out on the road?
What is the point you are trying to make about the traffic lights, do you want them or the delivery point moving?
Do you think you would be able to do the job better?

Yep If they used a separate truck for every del to make it more convenient for people who live above bars and restaurants. Could you afford it?
Look around your home. It all came from the trailer behind a truck.
And as much as you want to whine and blame the del driver he has a right to make his/her del.
