Jess Jackson is one of the best owners in the sport, thank God for people like him, otherwise the thoroughbred would be even worse off.
Its too bad its taken so many blasted breakdowns for people to pay attention. Heck, Ruffian was an accident waiting to happen, her sire got broke his legs 4 times before they finally put him down and her dam broke 2 legs, and a good bit of her immediat ancestory isn`t much better.
the only reason i dont and wont like racing that much is because of slaughter and how its race win me money and see ya i dont need you horses shouldnt be treated like that they are WAY to amazing and beautiful
Warmbloods leg bones are not even completely ossified (check Wikipedia for explaination) until they're at least three or four years old. They have no business on the track as even three-year olds, let alone two and training heavily as yearlings! I totally hate TB racing because of this, among all the other BS that we all know goes on to get them to make the owners money and the trainers famous. It's sickening!
agreed, i can't agree more. Horse racing these days are not about how real fit the horse is, their trainers just ant the money. But then the resualt is almost like a 'show dog' that is not fit enuff to show. The end is they don't win, and in racing for unfit race horses is just like that they win and well just get more unfit and worse. I'm not saying racing is a bad sport, hell i use to help groom race horses at my old barn, it's just thoughs that...
@ilovemyhorse123 [C] give the hroses drugs during racing. Yes they win but your only giving them drugs to help whatever is wrong with them keep up, and then once you breed them whats in the end? Unfit over populated foals that are not fit for racing and well maybe be dumped away some where.
