  • this is the star wars of robots fights, great job to both teams

  • It's funny how far BattleBots has fallen in since the early 2000's

  • @IITallikaII What do you mean by that? If my guess is correct then you think that this is battlebots. This is not in fact battlebots because battlebots is stationed in California but this is in Florida.

  • @Slayr231 Either way the whole sport It was huge for a while now it's this.

  • @IITallikaII I miss that Battlebots show...

  • Next year we will have have a 4s2p A123 pack and ditch the mini wedge. We also will include two dc gear motors for the drive and add rollers for the front, instead of sliders that failed. The wiring also needed to be better as our plug couldn't handle the start up amps that the monster needed.

Basically we redesigned humdinger and we needed a second year to straighten out the bugs.

  • I built a robot like humdinger2, only it has a lot more power in the weapon. Unfortunately, the drive system fail miserably. The weapon went to 11,000 rpm with a 3s2p A123 pack.

  • ha more power

  • The mamba monster combo with a 3s2p A123 pack can crank out over 3000 watts. I doubt your 70 amp, one way airplane controllers can get even close to that. Percy had an 800 watt motor and the monster system is capable of 120 amps continuous and 300 peak for 6 seconds.

  • I do admit though the fact that thunder was not a successful robot.

  • We took second and third to Humdinger at last years Bots Worldwide Nationals, and first and fifth at this years NRL nationals, while also winning the pittsburgh competition three consecutive years. How'd you do again? We could have used the monster but there was not point, and we use A123, as does humdinger in non lipo comps. It doesnt matter how much power your robot really has unless you can use it, Matts an awesome driver.

  • And you are 100% right and correct and worthy of all of those titles. But Thunder holds the record for the most powerful weapon motor and I think also the energy stored in the weapon (at 7000 joules). I am betting humdinger only had 4 A123 cells. Thunder and Lighting was a multibot which had a total of 8 A123 cells and 5 brushless motors. Thunder only weighed 13.6 lbs, which makes it even more impressive, plus it had 5/8" worth of armor all around.

  • im 100%

  • so it was that last hit you almost hit our batterys, the beater went under the angled side and bit into the lexan conver good

  • thats the only time some one stayed longer

  • Longer then?! rugburn?

  • good vids. keep on filming next season.

    no remorse owns lol :P

  • AWESOME robot...WOW.

  • Such a beast. Last vert. spinner I saw that could throw like that was Aneurysm, a middleweight.

    Great bot.

  • @ Partytimes08

That's a pretty cool design. It's nice to actually see some sparks and shrapnel in these events. No offense to the engineers, but I get tired of seeing the typical low profile, unarmed "wedge" principle. Sure, it's practical, but it makes for a pretty bland contest. I think that's why all of those T.V shows sucked. Anyway, good vids.

  • 10 Second Break.....lol

  • ahh yes, I was way to jittery...I needed a quick break :) I think I cut it short though

  • Maybe a little lol

  • haha i still think we should have started them upside down lol

  • AND YOU ARE NOT FIGHTING ME ?!?!?!?! DEATH STAR IS COMING but nice job man:)

  • Thank You guys!

  • I gotta second Alex. Absolutely ridiculous!

  • Matt that is one hell of a robot. You deserved to win.
