I was surprised to hear she was brazilian coz when I hear brazilian I think dark and exotic(Adriana,Alessandra,Gise­le,Isabeli)and she looks scandinavian;but as I read in the comments brazil has immigrants from all over so brazilians come in a wide wariety of looks.from the really white to really dark. @vidlvr99 Giselle has German origins just like Raquel..but the difference is that Giselle is always on the sun , trying very hard to get tan .. it is Alessandra who also has European origins and is 24 h on the sun....They both are , getting tan..They are not natural "dark skin"..Most brazilians has European origins many are germans. Isabeli is Italian Brazilian ..Brazil is not different then USA, there are many Europeans decedents

Well, for me, I don't think there's something different she just looks like an average blonde girl. I don't see anything unique on her. I think Adriana Lima, Isabel Goulart, etc. look better. Her parents (just like Gisele's) most likely were born in Brazil too. But they're from German descent. She is still Brazilian, my dear. It is the same thing as Madonna not being considered American just because her father is from Italian descent and her late mother was French-Canadian.

However, real miscegenation happened in Brazil, the true "melting pop" (the US is a joke with all the segregation that still is everywhere). You don't see caucasian Americans saying thay are not Americans, because they came from Irish/English or whatever background, they embrace it, but they are still Americans. Raquel is Brazilian from German heritage.

Brazil is the country with more german, italians and japaneses descendents out of their respective countries. Around 10 million germans, 20 millions italians and 1.5 million japaneses. These immigrations started 100 years ago.

Most of the italians, germans and also a lot of Polish descendents are in south region of Brazil. The japaneses are most in the south east, mainly São Paulo.
