  • @swilso2017 Chances are, if you don't know what it is, you don't have it installed. Simply check FOMM for the ESM/ESPs and if they aren't there, then it's safe to say you don't have either of them installed.

  • @swilso2017 @Fug118TheGreat WMX and WME are separate mods that you can choose to download, in the same way you choose to download Project Nevada (by searching the FO:NV Nexus and downloading from there). I don't use them, but they are popular enough to justify giving them a try. If you don't know whether you have them or not, though, then you probably do not have them, and therefore, you should not install the patches for them.

  • Hey man, thanks for the video they are helpful. i am about to start playing NV and i need one "base" mod to install. Project Nevada was one, the other was FOOK.. I guess you probably recommend Project Nevada, but i was wondering if you know anything about FOOK in term of what does it add... And do you know if you can run both of the together. Thanks.

  • @pakleglia These tutorials are designed more to teach people about the principles of modding rather than the fastest way to install a mod. I cover different methods of installing fomods. In part 6 for example I cover how to use Premade FOMOD Packages (PFP). In my later videos I generally stick to the fastest method that works (Add FOMOD), but even then, there are several mods where you have no choice but to make them from folder.

  • @pakleglia You can do this with archives containing precompiled fomods and even archives with just loose files. In fact probably about 90% of the mods you download can be made using the Add FOMOD option. Extracting to a folder is really only neccesary when you have to start editing things or moving files about. eg. if a mod has optional files but no script.

  • I'm getting a message the second the game starts at the docter's house that " it couldn't find NVSE" and that it cant run any of mods. i've tried reinstalling the files, tried reinstalling fomm, but still have had no success. any Ideas?

  • @GLZEPHEAD69 go download the new vegas script extender.

  • @GLZEPHEAD69 Either NVSE is not installed correctly or you are not running the game from the NVSE loader. Check out part 1 in this series for details.

  • Yes Rebalance Rebalanced was scrapped with the new version.

  • Went to the patch site listed in the description however, it seems that "re-balance rebalanced" no longer exists. Perhaps this file was scrapped with version 2.3 of Project Nevada.

  • So I use .7z and it doesnt extract like yours does. I went to package manager and clicked add fomod and clicked the .7z file with Project Nevada. It loaded everything and there is no immediate problems to me...

  • Merge patches and BOSS will be covered in a later part. Master updates will not however be covered because it will break some mods that will be covered in later parts.

    I totally understand your concern about MasterUpdate breaking some mods such of "New Vegas Bounties" but for "ME" at least with the amount of mods i use and not having a MasterUpdate can be unstable.

  • @MegaSpooke Yeah, to be honest a lot of my own mods are not Master Update safe and its one of the things on my TODO list as soon as I finish off this tutorial series :) But I have given it some thought and I may do the tutorial on master updates anyway. If i make FNVEdit the subject of one 15 min tutorial I can probably cover how to make it work even with mods like Bounties installed.

  • very nice tutorial for people who don't know how to install lots of mods but there was a few things you miss and maybe you should've include it in this tutorial.

    using BOSS for load order is about 90% of the times right and the other thing you should've mention is on how to make a merged patch and how to use the master update to make the game more stable.

    Wither way you did a great job .

  • Install the stand alone version of MCM. The one built into PN only works for that mod.

  • @viper20396 Did you install the mods in the right order? Try uninstalling the mods that support MCM and reinstalling them one at a time. Also, make sure you have the right compatibility patches if you are using the Project Nevada integrated versions of some of the MCM mods.
