Van Persie's demonstrates immense technique and the vision for Rooney's chip against Portsmouth was sublime, but personally I just love the way Paul Scholes struck that volley.

He scored some magical goals in his carrer and he says that was his best.

yeah i agree, but they were both in the same month as the scholes one (which won goal of the month in december). i think the goal of the season comp is made up of all the goal of the month winners, but obviously sometimes there were loads of incredible goals in the same month that would have easily won had they been at a different point in the season. watch the december 2006 and january 2007 comps. absolutely immense
