what is ur opinion on allowng a 13 !/2 yr old and 11,&8 yr old walking to school by themselves...walk is approx. 20 minute walk....the dad works first shift leaves at 5 a.m. and i have to be at work by 730 am so my co worker picks me up round 7am we only have 1 car and wish desperately to buy another one...would love to be stay at home mom...but financially i cant..my husband and i both ahve college degrees..i feel like a bad parent now for having them walk...they all3 do carry cell's...
To be clear, are they walking together? Or each alone..... How far is school? are you in a city or suburb? Are there other children in your neighborhood that walk? If you work with the school staff and address your concerns, they may be able to help link you with another family whose children walk. Where I live the school does background checks on volenteers (mostly stay at hm moms) who help in situations like yours to taxi kids to school. I say do your homework and get support if possible.
@isasz91 they are walking together with approx. 6-10 other children....my kids and i can walk from our door to school in 20 minutes...(if u live under 1 mile from the school ur not allowed to be bused to/from school.at first the school had a prob. with my oldest callin me on my cell from his cell to say "hey,we made it"but after i complained about that they allowed him to.the volunteers are of other moms and local police officers...atleast 3-4 cops on any given day...thx 4ur advice
wow, i would never let my baby play outside alone, exxpecaily when theres water near, i always keep my eyes on her when shes playing outside, and y isn't that stupid old granny doing anything like yelling out to the kids to come back?
Your family is in our prayers- God bless your babies and you - I pray this never happens again and the grandmother is not allowed with in 50 feet of those precious babies-
My god, I hope they pick up their feet and quit dropping the ball here. If something does happen to either of your boys (God forbid, please) while in her care, there is no amount of money or prison time that can make that up to devoted loving parents. Apparently the state of Florida does not recognize this.
yikes! mine didnt even get to play in their own front yard without me at that age. my son is 11 now and he gets to go about 100 yards from our house on his bike. i cant even imagine letting a 4 yr old roam free, ESPECIALLY with any kind of water nearby!
just an FYI here, you can be registered as a sex offender if you take a leak in public...someone could be drunk one night and just go in a bush and gets registered as a sex offender...not all FELONS are druggies and criminals...just keep that in mind
Yes, you are correct. However the felons that I am talking about are thieves, drug dealers and rapists. The internet allows us to find out why people have been to prison.
^^^Says the felon...^^^ lol jk dude, but damn those are some strict laws. I live in Canada, if you get busted pissin in the bush they tell you to finish up and don't do it again. Or if the cops in a bad mood will take you in for indecent exposure lol...

Who cares if they've "mislabelled" a sex offender. Don't get drunk and piss in public and you won't have to worry.

At what point where the police called? It doesn't help if there is no intervention.
