@MiguelGGuido This actually does work in 09 and 08. However, you cannot do side by side, you can only do picture in picture. Other effects are limited as well, as there is only a green screen in 09 but there is a blue AND green screen in '11 :)
@KrispyKremeCuzins Unfortunately, it is not available in '09, only '11. I highly recommend upgrading to '11. Go to your App Store on your mac and purchase iMovie '11 for only $15.00!
@aronoldm At the top go to: iMovie>>Preferences and then check >>show advanced settings. If this does not work, I'm sorry, but something must be wrong with your iMovie file and I cannot help you. Go to the Genius Bar at your nearest Apple Store and they will help you for free (you must schedule an appointment on their official apple website to go).
@aronoldm If I did not answer your question correctly, this is iMovie '11 v. 9.0. Drag your second clip on top of the first one at any place, then there SHOULD be a drop down list that says split screen and side by side. iMovie '09 only supports one of these.
@videosthatevry1likes if you watch this music video (type in youtube search bar) coco step and its the 1st video..... and skip to 30 seconds this is what i mean would it be possible in imovie 11? (youtube wont let me pm you)
@JayMusic23 OK, I now see what you mean. So there are 3 different splitscreens within like 30 secs to 35. the first and second are impossible in iMovie, and the third is possible (it is a side-by-side splitscreen.)
@JayMusic23 It IS normally horizontal, but if you are asking if you can do it vertically, the answer is not in my knowledge. you could do a picture in picture split screen and then put the second clip on the bottom and crop the first clip to be the first half, but this is very complex. If you want to do this very bad, please PM me and I will help you further and more specific.
@vampireknightx101 Yes, this is possible. However you may notice the quality is a bit low and it will take a while. Do one splitscreen, export it, import it, and do another splitscreen, export it, import it, and do another.
@Cable168 lol me again,, sorry for posting soo much but again i got it to say the stuff it says picture by picture but not splitscreen or side by side :( i am using '09
@Cable168 Yes. Unfortunately in '09 they only have picture by picture, not sidebyside. that is only available for iMovie '11. However, I highly recommend upgrading from '09 to '11 for a bunch of improvments. Just go to the 'App Store' on your mac and get imovie 11 for around 15 dollars US. Thanks for watching!
@sekayujora Yes, this is feature is only available in the newest version which I highly reccomend purchasing for the 'App Store' on your Mac for a discounted price [iMovie '11] Thanks for watching!
I have a question for you: What are you screen recording with? And how do you keep the text legible? I a trying to do a screen record for a youtube video showing only text. The problem is that everything looks good until I drop the screen recorded material into iMovie or Youtbue. It becomes all blurry from being compressed I guess. Your text is totally crisp! How did you do it?
@srfrr Thanks for watching. I cannot post links as comments, so I posted the link at the bottom of the description. Basically, a website enabled a camera to film my screen... and this camera is crisp and hd... so look in the description and it says 'SHOT WITH:' Hope I helped!
@VeeVee9dee7 Hmm... first make sure you are dragging the video clip directly onto the first other video clip on the project. If nothing still pops up, I am not really sure. The one thing that could help is telling me the version of iMovie you are using.
@VeeVee9dee7 okay... all i can say is that you have to make sure to drag your first clip into the top section, then drag the second clip over it, not before or after it... if the window still doesn't pop up, you can make a video response to this video and I will tell you what you are doing wrong...
Is it possible to have more than 2 clips side by side and to have a black border around them a la Brady Bunch tv intro?
