  • thumbs up if u heard about lucille in beck mongolian chop squad!

  • Morgan Freeman wishes he was as amazing as B.B. King.

  • my grandpa always tells me stories about his life and what he has done back in the days. and he says his stories are the best ( ya know the typical old guy in the army in 1974 -_-) but this is the best story everrr!

  • Now that's a story... They just don't have stories like that anymore.

  • Well, Morgan and B.B. were both raised up in Mississippi...that Magolia drawl you know.

  • i think he shoulda been god in bruce almighty :d

  • thumbs up if you have a guitar named lucille.

  • @Fieldy63 i have the epiphone model :P

  • @bmxconnor09 my lucille is a jaguar HH, and she is beautiful :)

  • long live the King..... i named my guitar "marbie" to remind my never to marry a girl like my ex wife again, who hates my Jackson dinky with a passion

  • lucky the lady's name wasn't 'Big Screaming Agatha'...it wouldn't have been as cool

  • I love how he says " Everybody started heading out the front door including BB King" and the i says .........."He reminded me of elmo"

  • thank you b.b. king and lucille for this fantastic sound

  • Since when did Morgan Freeman got fat?

  • i love old BB with all my heart, without BB, Buddy Guy, Howlin Wolf, SRV, Hendrix, Clapton and Zeppelin i would have an empty space in my life, Few things in life are better than sitting around in your free time with your guitar learning the blues.

  • No! Morgan Freeman sounds like BB King!

  • Who is morgan freeman?

  • I named my guitar " Shiver " lol shiver i get when I'm playing guitar WTF dunno why

  • Poor lucille...

  • Morgan Freeman and BB King are both from the Mississippi Delta...probably why they sound alike.

  • What a fucking G, this dude is badassery personified

  • 7 people didn't see morgan freeman in this video.

  • ONLY BB KING CAN TALK ABOUT HIMSELF IN THE 3rd PERSON

  • i read that in the auto biography with david ritz, pretty cool book, feel like he is talking to you

  • BB King is also an hero :D

  • aint that some shit

  • Wow that's musical devotion, but back then he probably just couldn't buy a new guitar, if you're at the beginning of your career gear don't grow on trees, it's expensive and you get a special bond to it.

  • the new youtube sucks....i mean 'the fuck im drunk and stones when i watch music on the internet... i dont want to search everything again....i mean....well fuck it

  • yea i knew this already man u people need to catch up with the times!! no jk lol

  • What a legend.

  • Haha legendary! Wonderful man and artist. gotta love him

  • Lmao. I love this guy.

"Everybody decided to run for the front door including BB King"

  • I met him in 1989 and he was soooooooo nice!

  • He was talking in 3rd person for a second there. He was like "and one of those people was BB king."

  • He sounds like Morgan Freeman!! haha.

  • It could be that he and Morgan Freeman were born and raised for awhile within 50 miles of each other in Mississippi. James Earl Jones was also from that area, just a little further north.

  • hahah was thinkin the same thing lol

  • @Moiez101

    ...oh my god he does...

  • @Moiez101 haha

  • @Moiez101 No Morgan Freeman sounds like BB King

  • @Moiez101 Thats the first thing that came to mind :D

  • @Moiez101 Morgan Freeman sounds like him...:))

  • @Moiez101 no, Morgan Freeman sounds like him.

  • @lucas07700 NOOO Morgan Freeman is BB Kings alter ego

  • @dojabreath11 haha lol

  • people listen to the song lucille by bb king. he tells the story beautiful with a lot of cool licks.

  • if u add morgan freeman and a guitar, you will get bb king

  • Nah... Fatter and more Godlike

  • @HeavyMetalHeadGuy you need to add fatness as well

  • @WhoIsPine that manyou're calling "fat" did more than you could ever do in a lifetime or even two...

  • @ShiztnGigz i really enjoy mr king's music as well, but you cant deny he's quite a large fella. And you couldn't possibly know what I could do in a lifetime. What if I discovered the cure for cancer or invented flying shoes or something real cool like that? You think about that buddy.

  • @WhoIsPine i cant deny but when you put it as you did you just diss'd BB and i couldnt let you do that. I'd like to apologize if i offended you but if your trying to cure cancer you're behind (nano technology) look it up, and for flying shoes? if you do i'll be the test dummy, but until then think about this, have you ever changed or impacted anything as much as mr. King did? if not dont diss the man for his large stature dont make that his characteristic trait because it isnt dont you forget it

  • @WhoIsPine

    really fatness? lol.

  • @HeavyMetalHeadGuy dont forget to add some weight.

  • @HeavyMetalHeadGuy Lol before i clicked on this link i thought to myself he looks like Morgan Freeman xD

  • @HeavyMetalHeadGuy and 200 pounds of fat, talent, and the soul

  • he's a proper legend...

is it just me or does morgan freeman sound exactly like him!

  • now THAT is the storey of a blues man storey

  • Just imagine what Lucille is going to be worth after B.B. leaves us. Whatever any guitar of Clapton's sold for, double it for Lucille.

  • eric clapton's guitar sold for just under 1 million

  • Guitar Center now owns Blackie and they paid $ 959,000 for it. Paul Allen bought Brownie for $ 450,000.

  • bb is going to want to be burried with lucille i would want to be burried with my guitar!!!

  • hes such a good guy..

like if i was him id like kick those guys in the face and if i was B.B then i take the girl cuz who doesnt wana make love 2 THE MAN HIMSELF!!!??!!

  • Probably to never forget to grab his guitar when he was leaving a building again.

  • Yeah

  • and/or leave his guitar there

  • No, not to risk his life foolishly. As he has stated before, "There are other guitars, but only one BB King."

  • Yeah but its painful to leaving your favorite guitar to burn for sentimental reasons.

I was a victim of Typhon Undoy (Keterana) last Sept. 26 '09. My #1 '93 MIJ Strat body cracked and my #2 '93 American Standard Neck damaged. The Fender Princeton Chorus amp was submerged and the bottom wood of the combo enclosure cracked.

This stuff can be replaced. I almost got trapped inside the house when fast rising flood water when my Fridge floated and block my door.

  • Wow thats amazing.

  • jesus crist of marry he sounds like Morgan Freeman! Seriously close your fucking eyes and listen. shits creepy.

  • Hey man, he does! As many times as I've heard him talk.... and I never picked up on it! Oh.... Morgan Freeman is #1 of the 3 actors that are my favorite. Has been since "Shawshank Redemption." Man is that one epic movie!

  • Holy crap. You're right.

  • how much a lucille cost? i want one :3

  • For Epiphone version:$6-700

    Gibson: $3000 (?) somewhere around there. :)

  • damn i still have a long way to go

    thx anyways =]

  • me too man, me too...

  • what is the guitar name? i mean like the real name of the guitar, not lucille.

    pm me if anybody knows.

  • The guitars name IS Lucille.

  • i mean like the guitar brand/model.

    before he named it Lucille.

  • Used to be a gibson ES 335/and sometimes 345 long ago. Main difference with his guitar is that way back he had gibson make the to solid, so in big venues it wouldn't feed back as much. In small venues (stages, really) he was so close to speakers and amps, it was an even bigger problem. He loves the Varia-tone control too. Customized it with Lucile on headstock. Next time (I think :) they put his name on the fretboard. It also has stereo outputs for the 2 pickups. Thats as good as I can describe

  • thx a lot dude or girl lol

    that really help ^-^

  • thanks for the info...it is definately a beautiful guitar.

  • B.B took alot of his guitar influence from T Bone Walker. Everyones influenced by someone.

  • is he still alive

  • yup, still alive

  • "Adam and Eve wrote the only song available. The rest of us just rip them off." - Keith Richards

  • I bought a lucille for $800 too bad I dont have it anymore

  • BB was definitely original, and is still a brilliant blues musician. However, he has said himself in multiple interviews that his playing skills are limited to a few riffs and licks, eventhough it still sounds good. You take players like Hendrix, Duane Allman, Stevie Ray, and Clapton, they were technical players. They got into the guitar and explored its limits. But it all comes back to that same man who only knows a few licks, and he inspired these brilliant guitar players.

  • Guys seriously you need to stop saying that john mayer is just a rip off of SRV and that Eric C is just a rip off of BB King. No on rips anyone off especially them with each other. Just because some one likes a guitarist so much that there willing to practice a shit load to become like them dosnt mean there ripping them off. ripping some one off is taking a perfectly great song and covering it to make it your own

  • You're right. Music is music. The point is no one owns this stuff. It comes from the soul. Just because one guy has found a way to express himself through music and someone likes that style and synthesizes it into their own doesn't mean someone ripped someone else off.

  • what does he say at 0:15?

  • "That's what we used to heat in winter."

  • Thats what we used for heat in the winter.

  • I think he says "that's what we used for heat in the winter" ;)

  • what a humble man truly his life experiences tell a stroy on the guitar a story some will never understand. the farthest some can understand is the jonas brothers its sad how brainwashed people are today

  • finally someone with a brain!

  • yea john mayer sucks. he just ripps off of SRV a lot

  • Are you freaking kidding me?!! You have no taste. Mayer is freaking awesome. I think B.B. and Clapton are better but they are also a lifetime older. He is great and getting better. His album Continuum had some of the best guitar I have ever heard. It's a shame you don't have the ability to hear his stuff and appreciate it because you are really missing out.

  • ok first of all ive been listening to blues since i can remember. i basicly grew around that sorta music, and im also pretty decent on the guitar myself ive been playin for 4 years now. and i can tell you that mayer is good yes better than me by wat i can hear in his albums but he tends to play a lot like SRV. all im saying though is why doesent he come up with his own style. it might take him awhile though but i would respect him more for it. so HA! ^_^

  • God I LOVE this story

    LONG LIVE THE KING

  • I Love BB !!!

  • Did someone mention John Mayer in the same breath as BB King? The only thing he gonna know about blues is that it maybe the surrounding color of both of his eyes someday!

  • Did you just diss John Mayer? Have you not heard him? John Mayer plays like Hendrix/SRV combined with his own flair. There is a reason that he jams with BB King and Eric Clapton.

  • didn't mean to insult your taste, but mayer learned from sitting in a room by himself for 8 years practicing, the other names you mentioned are legends, from the heart type fellas. They invented what mayer plays! Sorry if you don't agree, mayers a good guita player, im just far from a fan!

  • I didn't mention those names, I was just defending John Mayer's guitar playing.

Mayer has the skills to be a legend himself someday. Yes of course, all of those other guys are amazing, but Mayer is in the same class as them. I hear more heart in his playing than most new musicians.

  • Youre an idiot. What do you think BB, Clapton Srv have done to be famous? Practiced, practiced and practiced, in their rooms or anywhere else, just like Mayer did. Or do you believe in miracles? By the way, BB ripped of T-bone Walker, just as Clapton ripped of BB and Srv ripped of Hendrix. The circle goes on and on, youre just being ignorant. You dont change the fact Mayer is a good player, he just needs a bit more time to make his distinctive style more markable.

  • You all are idiots. Clapton ripped off of B.B., but King was original. SRV may have COVERED hendrix but if you know anything about the blues you will hear him playing albert king, albert collins, and T-Bone Walker, who was born a few miles from SRV's boyhood home. Mayer isn't a blues artist, someone who had a life long love affair with the blues wouldn't sell out time and time again, Mayer is talented but everything he plays is so stale SRV & Clapton do it to pay homage Mayer copys it to the T.

  • Everyone eventually becomes original, i was just saying everyone learns licks and how to play from older blues guitarists. BB really did try to play like T-bone, but uin the end, because he played it wrong, became inventing his own style. Thats how it goes with guitarists. And SRV did use 1 or 2 of Hendrix licks quite a lot, use your ears, especially when SRV is playing in the first box. BTW Clapton had a long love affair with blues, but eventually ended up writing songs like Layla

  • Mayer does not sell out. Give me one example of Mayer selling out.

  • prolly because he is a nice person

but i've not i do not listen to the dude so i have no right to diss him

and just so u know i wasnt the guy u were talking to in ur comment

  • I dont think he plays like Hendrix, But he is REALLY talented. I agree, he is VERY good.

  • Now i know you all arent forgetting who started it all? Robert Johnson ring a bell?

  • i would trade a kidney to meet the king

  • im sort of new to blues ..but is there any big new names i should look up on?

  • if you are new to blues...you should look up these guys, you won't be disappointed :) buddy guy stevie ray vaughan eric clapton albert king george thorogood bb king jimi hendrix john mayer (buddy guy is my personal favorite) i hope this helps. welcome to the world of smokin blues
  • sonny boy williamson?

    robert johnson?

    john lee hooker?

  • Joe Williams

    Muddy Waters

    T-Bone Walker

    Sun House

  • Freddie King

    Lightning Hopkins

    Howlin Wolf

    Jimmy Vaughan

    Billy Gibbons

    The Allman Brothers

Blues is the most emotinal based music of all. Its a music not about speed, technique, or effects. The way to be a genuine true, blues guitar player, is to allow your emotions to come out through the guitar, and if your doing it right, your listeners will be able to feel the emotions too. After blues check out Jazz. Jazz is more mind-game of modes and scales, but its derived from the blues. Good luck mate

  • Can't forget the las king! Freddie King to complete the set, also check out Johnny A he's great.

  • DUDE buddy guy is like my favioret TOO! lol i thought i was the only one i really not a fns of john mayer...at all but i love bb king albert king srv jimi hendrix and eric clapton oh yeah i do enjoy some of jimmy vaugns stuff too. :)

  • Albert Collins

    Matt Murphy - very tasteful

Jeff Beck - blues is one of his many styles of which he is phenomenal at playing - listen to the Rod Stewart era Jeff Beck Group, particularly the album Truth. If you can listen to the JBG version of BB King's Sweet Little Angel (as an extra on the remastered Beck-Ola) - that really is something else - power and delicacy, like BB's playing, but with more of a British Blues/Jeff Beck irrate eccentricity plus Rod's sublime vocals and Woody's manic bass

  • He turned this story into a sweet song. I got it on his greatest hits.

  • I love BB king, that man has Soul. True Bluesman. Awesome story. I love my Guitars, they all have a name that means something to me.

  • Such wisdom, his reputation is well deserved.

  • TROTTEL!

  • In a different interview he said that he uses the name Lucille to remind himself 'not to do anything that STUPID ever again.' I guess he didn't; he's still around.

  • lol

  • Amazing!

  • thats what i call love your guitar

  • Yeah it is a nice story. If this had been some young idiot guitarist the strory would have been: "So I banged this chick named Lucille..."

  • haha thats really true

  • what a nice story..

  • i see....

  • Ah ok, i always wondered why he called his guitar "Lucille"

that's an intersting story i gotta admit, thanks for posting it

  • cool story, bro!

Voila :)

  • nice story, master

  • haha, great story :)

  • We love you BB, and we love Lucille who talks the blues.

  • legit man

  • Holy Crap! I'm a firefighter and I named my axe Lucille, weird coincidence, huh?

  • weird indeed

  • It can't be a coincidence :) In your former life you might have seen the famous event :)

What kind of guitar is yours? Must be nice having such a nice name! :)

  • do u mean axe as in guitar or axe as in firefighter tool used for cutting through doors?

  • the axe I use to pry open doors, chop through roofs and search burning buildings

  • Oh I see :D

  • he means the cologne.
