You have substrate - doesn't fish poop/ excess food get collected in the substrate? How do you keep your tank water clean of the fish poop - that is biggest problem in my cichlid tank ... I can siphon the ones in open but poop keeps collecting at base of stone caves and between stones ... that I never get to clean (since I do not break down the caves ... while cleaning) ... pls. advise?
Hello my friend. Wow your video is beautiful. Congratulations on the Discus and congratulations for the choice of music. It is very beautiful. What is the name of that song? It has many people wondering about the name of the song. Do you remember her name? A big hug. Andreza.
ps: I apologize for my English. I'm Brazilian and I do not speak very well English.
my dear god what a beautifull bunch of discus..i have a 38 gl with a blue and a(i was told ) red marlboro...i am not wealthy so i can not pay hundreds of dollars for beauty.i use distilled water because we have well water that is very hard..this is all new to me...hope all will go well
as I understood you do not treat the water you use for the aquarium? The mater is that what you use to lower the pH of the water. as I know Discus fish do not survive in pH over 6.5. What you mean when you say that you loose 1 or 2 discus every year. My jealousy is that I have never seen such as fantastic discus as yours. Fantastic job. Bravo!!!!
please tell me: how you treat the water. For me seems impossible to keep this fish. What kind of water you use (distilled water or something else!!!) Thank you
The water shouldn't mater much as long as you have a good filtration system in place. I've got under gravel filter and a canister filter. I replace around 60% to 70% of the water every 15 to 20 days. That's it!
Having said that, I do loose one or two fishes in a year.
OMG there as got to be alot of money going in that tank lol
I know Discus are alot of money to buy.
If you buy a baby Discus you are looking at £30 to £50 and big ones at £120 and more.
Nice tank and like to know how did you keep all your Discus in one tank? as when i was a kid i use to keep them! and i only had one Discus in a tank as if i had anything in the tank with it. it will kill it.
