  • is your car stock ports?

  • @phudao41 In this video the car had stock ports

  • @mbsony how is your car doing after all these road races?

  • @phudao41 Doing well, never had a DNF. The car was taken down to the shell again since this video and has been built up again more than once. Powertrain, suspension, body and more all different from this video.

  • @mbsony DNF? are you using oem apex seals or ceremic apex seals?

  • Actually that's a JM1FC RX7.... just saying.

  • What mufflers were on this car? I'm thinking about making an exhaust for my s5 and love the way your car sounds!

  • isnt this the car u were parting it out on rx7club?

  • @steve088 I have sold many things from that car on rx7club. The custom 5.12 R/P LSD is currently for sale...

  • I own a Pro7 RX-7 and run it in Group 4 with NASA. I believe this to be the predecessor to the Miata... point being they ARE a blast to drive at speed. The Miata has mega horsepower compared to the 96 h.p. of the 12a rotary engine. Can you say "momentum cars"? That's what these are and they are a blast. Oh yah, mine is for sale. $2000. Ton of spare parts and an enclosed trailer is also available. Dave (408) 476-5649 Cali. Or pro7dave22@yahoo.com

  • I'd love to know how to do the rev limiter clip as well, If you got the time could you make a video please? By the way awesome racing!

  • @7eyedviper

I'm not the one who clipped it, I sent it off to a guy in FL. PM if you need his contact.

  • Hey how do you clip the rev limiter Send me a pm:) thanks:D

  • @JDMmz309 You got a message...

  • its pulling decent for not being ported. mild port? not looking for an answer just a guess. are you running an ems? i don't know the rules but i like the way your car is setup.

  • @soleja138 No porting to the housings or irons whatsoever. It had a stock ECU with a clipped rev limiter.

  • turbo?

  • The motor in this video was a stock port N/A

  • @mbsony wow, it looks like it goes well for a non ported 13b, by chance do you know which classes allow race ported 13b's

  • @thash1127 That car in this video has been retired. Lots of classes could potentially allow a ported 13b - NASA SU/ST/PT or SCCA ITE/EP/GT3/STU. Depends on the type of porting. The new car has a 13b N/A SP and runs SCCA EP.

  • Koooo! Listen to that engine! SO COOL! Can't be first every time tho. lol.

  • is that car running with down force? If so what angles are your spoilers set at?

  • Just a splitter/air dam. No rear wing.

  • man you really put the pressure on in those chicanes. good lines!

  • do you mind telling me the expected top speed for fc3s set at ITE regs. i know every track is different so i guess just your all time high speed as an ITE racer.

  • The ITE rules vary from SCCA region to region so you could run stock ports up to say a PP. In addition the car was not setup for "top speed". For example, the diff carried custom 5.12 gears, there are a few options for stock 2nd gen 5th gears and then obviously the tire size effects gearing. Finally, I don't have a speedometer. Somewhere at TWS it might see 140+mph.

  • r u gonna be in ECR in sep? look for Texas Autosports with the formula mazdas. i may have my FC there also runnin with ITE

  • SCCA no. I might come out for an hour or two and watch. NASA ECR Oct I was planning on until the dyno on the new motor this past weekend was horrible. The new EP motor makes less power than my ITS motor! We don't know why yet, very, very frustrated. Never seen another ITS or ITE FC in TX, send me an email.

  • i agree completely. i run ITS with my 2nd gen and its almost not worth it with the restrictions they have

  • for a 2nd gen rx7 like yours and the ITE class, are you running a 13b motor?

  • The car in the video had a stock port 13b NA. It used to run ITS but the rules are too restrictive, I flipped to ITE and NASA PTC. More recently the car was stripped to a bare shell and built from the ground up to be a nationally competitive EP car. Videos of that car coming in the next month or so.

  • very cool

  • is ITE the best class for a 2nd gen rx7? what about GT5, GT4?

  • With SCCA they are most common in ITS and EP. You can also run ITE or GT3. All depends on the level of modifications.

  • Insane rpm's.

  • Just couldn't get passed that FB :P

  • How much power can you squeeze out of this car without doing any extreme modifications? Would it be a hassle to install/tune a turbo on a naturally aspirated version of this engine?

  • You can get 180rwhp on a stock port motor with stock ECU if done right. You have to start porting to get more. People just swap to the turbo motor rather than convert a NA motor to turbo. You can put a turbo motor in a NA car.

  • Nice! I seriously want to get into this. Most likely after college when I will actually have money.

  • nice racing, nice car.

  • Awesome stuff dude! Great driving.

  • Can't wait to see the vid of you vs the z31 @ tms in may.

    :)

  • That was cool. I'm trying to get my stuff together and join the SCCA IT scene.

  • that thing has no porting wow!

  • specs? N/A??? nice work

  • Thanks! Non-ported 13b N/A, built tranny, 5.12 LSD, dbl adjustable coilovers and more - built to the rules max. The car originally started for SCCA Improved Touring rules and ran ITS, now ITE. It is being converted to run NASA Performance Touring C class.
