U.S Marshall found it out in old classified files,not so long ago, so my opinion is that they survived it...did some little plastic surgeries, changed ID and happily living somewhere , where no ones know about them...

The strongest arguments that Morris and the Anglins didn't survive: 1) no cars were stolen and no buildings on the mainland were burglarized following the escape and 2) none of the escapees was ever arrested for committing another crime. Insofar as the second point is concerned, you have to remember that Morris and the Anglins were career criminals with few marketable skills and/or relationships outside prison. If any of them survived, they would've been arrested again sooner or later.

It makes you laugh how the authorities are in complete denial that the escaped convicts of alcatraz survived.. They knew that there was a good chance that they made it across the bay to survive, But they just can`t admit it.. However we`ll never really know what happened

If they took the time to think through the escape from the prison i'm sure they took the same time to think through the escape through the bay. Pretty sure these guys made it safe and sound.
