  • Hey Casie, just a question. When I played football we always had it beat into our heads to always lift with perfect form. Which meant always extending till just before full extension when benching. I'm only a novice bodybuilder, can you tell me the benefit of not fully extending when benching? Thanks!

  • @cdtpsych I feel that a full range of motion is the most ideal way to stimulate all muscle groups in a particular compound movement. Many people do half-reps for the wrong reasons (mostly to boost their ego), whereas it is probably more ideal to get a solid range of motion while maintaining strict form. Since adopting many powerlifting techniques & focusing on improving my strength, I have inevitably adopted a stricter and more full range of motion since this video was recorded. :)
