Have you ever concederd buying back the rights to spyro the dragon, ever since you sold the rights, spyro never seemed the same. I miss that little, purple, cocky basterd, and judgeing by how he looks now I am sure spyro and his fans miss you too :(
I am hoping that Sony will give the rights to a developer that will make a Resistance game using the RFoM formula with the hip fire gameplay. Like the exact same gameplay structure as the first game.
If there were any more Resistance games, they would probably be prequels. The wormhole was the sole reason for the war, and now that it is destroyed, the Chimera have nothing to fight for. A prequel about the initial invasion in Europe, or somewhere else entirely would certainly be an intersting game.
I was a harsh critic of resistance 3, after playing RFOM, and R2, R3 did not compare to me and others to the first 2. That's the past move on, but I was expecting insomniac to learn from the mistakes of R3 and create a mind blowing Epic game Resistance 4. It could i believe out do any COD game or Battlefield game campaign and online multiplayer competitive and coop. They have the greatest concept!! Don't quit insomniac, create that Epic game and blow away the competition!! Don't give up!!

@iqon97 - Insomniac is one of the most respected developers out there. They've been incredibly successful. Spyro, Ratchet and Clank, and Resistance. And now they're coming out with Overstrike. Nobody is thinking that they're going to be shut down. Far from it. Sony still owns Resistance and Ratchet and Clank. Which means that if Insomniac wants to continue with Ratchet, then it will be on the PS3 (or 4). All they have done is expand the number of people who will get to play their games.

Dear Ted, most of us know that Resistance 3 is simply an excellent game. I'm sorry it didn't sell well, I blame Sony for their absolutely poor marketing for your game. Resistance was a great series, its a shame that Insomniac reached a barrier. Lets be honest here Resistance 2 to 3 had so many holes left unanswered; planet in the sky, Hale's final words, the bigger enemy, and what about Grayson or the Cloven? They took a realistic approach to an extraordinary game which made the end feel like a cope out.
I thank Insomniac for Resistance and the special moments we enjoyed, but please don't give up half way and hurt us the fans :(
As a fan of any franchise, I thank you for being able to put a franchise to sleep like this, instead of incessantly leeching off its corpse. There were 3 main Resistance games. That's enough. The games were good and went well with the concept, there is NO NEED to make any extra games. Thank you for ending a franchise on a high note with a critically acclaimed game, and for being able to go to work on completely new games and new IPs. Originality counts.

I agree, sort of. I bought R3 for both campaign and MP.
but i think a lot of people were looking forward to playing MP, because R2s Competitive sucked ass. And the R3 Online BETA, the gameplay was really good i guess (never got the chance to play but i heard it was good). but when it came to the final copy, IG added in all these ridiculous abilities and killstreaks. Along with lag and lack of Ig seeing what the fans wanted to be fixed, im pretty sure thats why R3 did bad.

Because R3 was garbage. Compared to the first two games, it was awful. The story was terrible, the multiplayer was completely BROKEN for the first 3 months of its release, and they just didn't listen to the fans.
And this is coming from someone who loved the first 2, preordered the third, and skipped school to play it. I was terribly, terribly disappointed with the game.

Well I'm glad Sony is going to continue the Resistance franchise, but I don't understand what you guys mean by, "you told the story that you wanted to tell". You're story seems unfinished. In R3, you introduced a civil war between the Chimera, but don't explain why or how it will effect the war. I'd also like to know exactly where the Chimera come from. Where did that big portal in the sky lead to exactly? Oh well... Not sure how I feel about Sony losing one of its flagship developers either.

@TheCulturalBomb Battlefront 3 was in development but then the developer got shut down. The Timesplitters devs were basicly dead but then Crytek did buy them and the IP. So there could be a new game if Crytek wishes. Getaway, dont know, dont care.
Even they are starting something new if they are ending the Ratchet & Clank series the ending has to be fresh and great. From what i've seen in the comics tacyon is still alive along with the other villian from the comics. They want to end the universe once and for all and Ratchet finally found the other lombax members including Angala Cross. So Ratchet & Clank team up with thier last adventure to stop the 2 villians once and for all. Ending the game Ratchet & Clank say farewell to each other.
The only reason resistance 3 was underrated so much was because of shitty mw3 and bf3. If it wasn't for those 2 pieces of crap, resistance 3 would have sold heeps in its first few days of launch.

The first Resistance is still one of my favourite FPS on the PS3. Great and long campaign. Split screen co-op is awesome on this game too. And i'm in love with Rachel Parker. ^^
The Resistance franchise is not in capable hands, NIHILISTIC made the peace of crap PlayStation Move Heroes, whats going to stop them from screwing up this game? NOTHING!

I have to say, with Resistance 3 I got the distinct feeling that they wanted to be done with the series. Not in a "We hate this, let it die already" sort of way, more of a "We like this, but there's not much more we can do in terms of gameplay, so we're finishing it with a bang and moving on" kind of way. I liked it, especially the last one, but I agree that it's time to move on. Now give it all you've got on Overstrike, Insomniac, because the game looks like it will be absolutely amazing.
This is an insult. R3 did nothing for the story. They desecrate us in R1 and R2, you take out one tower in R3, and all of the sudden our reduced numbers are able to destroy them completely?! ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME?! You are leaving so many questions unanswered. WoW, not happy about this...
No developer or creator wants to be tied to a single project forever... except maybe George Lucas... So it makes sense to leave after completing a trilogy to try other things. I look forward to Insom's growth and whatever other new things they create because Resistance was as good as it was. Good luck and break some legs!

As disappointed as I am to see them leave Resistance, I'm really excited to see what they can do with Overstrike. A four-player co-op shooter with their style of humor and crazy weapons sounds awesome. It'll be strange playing an Insomniac game on my 360 though.
R3 was the best in the series, but I think the ending felt rushed. Insomniac is getting lower and lower on my fave dev list since all there games are feeling more and more rushed. And as a FANBOY I wish Insomniac stayed PS3 exclusive

the main problem with Resistance was the art direction, the 1st game was probably the best but I can't really say since I probably won't buy the last game... the demo didn't intrigue me enough, but I may play it one day. I always could see the Ratchet and Clank feel behind the creature designs and this is clear evidence of a situation where they just needed to be more honest and bring in a completely new graphics artist to set the new franchise apart from Ratchet and Clank.
Really neat seeing a CEO address their company's fanbase like this. Wasn't a big fan of Resistance myself. I've heard good things about Ratchet & Clank though (that entire series is in my "if I had more time" pile) and Sly was a great time, so here's hoping whatever Insomniac's talents go towards next pleases their fans.
P.S.: Extra respect for not dragging out a franchise beyond your own visions for it.

RFoM strongest story telling on any FPS that i've played and very mysterious.
R2 wow just crap, no story, no feeling of the future of earth is in my hands. Go here go there, blah.
R3 was good, story should've been narrated not told thru "intelligence" found here and there, and Hale should've make a come back, as a clone or whatever.
The franchise could still be saved if Hale comes back and narration as well. But it's hard to tell.

What's wrong with the people who aren't buying Resistance 3? How did it only sell 400,000 in the U.S.? Modern Warfare 3 gets 400,000 noobs to buy their game every week. It's a ridiculous world we live in. Don't support game franchises like Call of Duty. They're killing quality developers like Insomniac Games.

I agree, sort of. I bought R3 for both campaign and MP.
but i think a lot of people were looking forward to playing MP, because R2s Competitive sucked ass. And the R3 Online BETA, the gameplay was really good i guess (never got the chance to play but i heard it was good). but when it came to the final copy, IG added in all these ridiculous abilities and killstreaks. Along with lag and lack of Ig seeing what the fans wanted to be fixed, im pretty sure thats why R3 did bad.

Because R3 was garbage. Compared to the first two games, it was awful. The story was terrible, the multiplayer was completely BROKEN for the first 3 months of its release, and they just didn't listen to the fans.
And this is coming from someone who loved the first 2, preordered the third, and skipped school to play it. I was terribly, terribly disappointed with the game.

Well I'm glad Sony is going to continue the Resistance franchise, but I don't understand what you guys mean by, "you told the story that you wanted to tell". You're story seems unfinished. In R3, you introduced a civil war between the Chimera, but don't explain why or how it will effect the war. I'd also like to know exactly where the Chimera come from. Where did that big portal in the sky lead to exactly? Oh well... Not sure how I feel about Sony losing one of its flagship developers either.

Even they are starting something new if they are ending the Ratchet & Clank series the ending has to be fresh and great. From what i've seen in the comics tacyon is still alive along with the other villian from the comics. They want to end the universe once and for all and Ratchet finally found the other lombax members including Angala Cross. So Ratchet & Clank team up with thier last adventure to stop the 2 villians once and for all. Ending the game Ratchet & Clank say farewell to each other.

I have to say, with Resistance 3 I got the distinct feeling that they wanted to be done with the series. Not in a "We hate this, let it die already" sort of way, more of a "We like this, but there's not much more we can do in terms of gameplay, so we're finishing it with a bang and moving on" kind of way. I liked it, especially the last one, but I agree that it's time to move on. Now give it all you've got on Overstrike, Insomniac, because the game looks like it will be absolutely amazing.

No developer or creator wants to be tied to a single project forever... except maybe George Lucas... So it makes sense to leave after completing a trilogy to try other things. I look forward to Insom's growth and whatever other new things they create because Resistance was as good as it was. Good luck and break some legs!

I loved resistance, but the motherfuckers who wanted to sit on their ass all day and play MW3, which is pretty much the same game as the last 8 cods DIDNT BUY RESISTANCE 3. R3 was an amazing fps (much better than that cod shit) and could have gone on to become the leading story-driven fps.

As disappointed as I am to see them leave Resistance, I'm really excited to see what they can do with Overstrike. A four-player co-op shooter with their style of humor and crazy weapons sounds awesome. It'll be strange playing an Insomniac game on my 360 though.

the main problem with Resistance was the art direction, the 1st game was probably the best but I can't really say since I probably won't buy the last game... the demo didn't intrigue me enough, but I may play it one day. I always could see the Ratchet and Clank feel behind the creature designs and this is clear evidence of a situation where they just needed to be more honest and bring in a completely new graphics artist to set the new franchise apart from Ratchet and Clank.

Really neat seeing a CEO address their company's fanbase like this. Wasn't a big fan of Resistance myself. I've heard good things about Ratchet & Clank though (that entire series is in my "if I had more time" pile) and Sly was a great time, so here's hoping whatever Insomniac's talents go towards next pleases their fans.
P.S.: Extra respect for not dragging out a franchise beyond your own visions for it.
