dont forget the SE/30 failed with bad caps too.

Pretty much anything they started using those SMD capacitors on started failing. the 128k/512k/plus/SE used standard capacitors. they DO fail, just not as often.

We had a lab full of SEs when I was in middle school. Great little machine.

How's the car restoration coming along?

The Plus and SE models are generally pretty reliable. It is really the later Classic models which have the most problems with bad capacitors.
