  • Used to have some of Wilf's records. Got rid of my record collection

2 moves ago. Great to be able to find him here on Youtube.

    thanks 4 the fun post.

  • He sure had the art of Yodeling.... I don't think there's been anyone who's done a well as Wilf does!!! The King of Yodeling!!!Unmatched as of yet!!!

  • I love this music! he's a really great yodeller!

  • Nice video tribute. I miss country music that sounds like country music.

  • i needed clarification of the "montana slim" label. here it is: wilf met slim whitman after a concert. on slim's vehicle, the licene plate read "montana slim". wilf had been labelled "m.s". he demanded that slim remove the licence plate and not use the title anymore. slim complied...

  • Just great i loved that one..

  • legendd!!!!

  • wilf had to drop the "montana slim" after someone who already went by that name made it known...

  • love to hear this man thought had lost him

    wado very much

  • Montana Slim is a legend. Good video. 5 stars.

  • awsome what is the song played during this slide show

  • The song is 'Lover's Lullaby Yodel'

  • I have the cd with the alpine milk man song i'll up-load it

  • i would love to hear alpine milkman.can't find it anywhere other than the old single i have.

  • Now this is music add more of montana slim

  • i just had to watch that again! the photos of his daughters were sold at concession stands when wilf toured. my father has just about all of that stuff! who knew???

  • my parents were good friends with wilf we visited him each summer in calgary when he was there either for the parade or personal business. father has all 110 albums. saw him for the first time here in st. john's, newfoundland in 1951. one of wilf's presents to my dad was the entire wardrobe for the album "where wilf is holding his horse". it's the stetson and red and white shirt. wilf confessed he was the black sheep of his family due to desire to sing and not preach - like his siblings.

  • Yes, Canada, but we're a pretty big country (2nd biggest in the world).Let's be more specific: Wilf Carter and Hank Snow were both Nova Scotians.(small east coast province) My father knew Wilf Carter.'Way back then.

  • so did my dad!

  • Great slide show Wilf Carter Is my all time faviourte I have many cd's 8-tracks and record the best to bad he's gone best sinnger ever in canada

  • Wilf Carter 1904-1996, great talent.

  • god bless youtube the montana slim lide sow was great first time i have ever heard him sing that yodel is just fantastic hank snow could yodel when he was young until he got his deep voice god bless all paul deal kent uk

  • It seems some of the greatest talent came from Canada.

  • i.e: joan morrissey, dick nolan, harry hibbs, corey and trina, minnie white, rufus guinchard and emile benoit...

  • What a delightful compilation slide show of one of Canad's greatest and sweetest performers and one of the greatest yodellers of all time. Particularly love the photo near the end of Wilf and a bunch of tourists when he was a trail rider and singer with The Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies, taking people on horseback tours of the mighty Bow River Valley. He recorded as Montana Slim, but he was always in his heart Wilf Carter.

  • Love to get more of Wilf singing.

  • check out "canada gold" (cbc, 1992)...and "life and times: wilf carter" cbc, 1994). also check "the tommy hunter show" archives (circa. 1982)...

  • Where did You ever get those Wonderful Pictures of Wilf Carter & his Family? I searched all My life looking for His records and Pictures. He was always My favorite. A Real Cowboy that could Sing. Thank You for this wonderful presentation. "My Brown eyed prairie rose" was My favorite song by Him. Chuck, Waterbury, CT.
