  • As they went to Heaven, Heather Dale descended to Earth. She must have, because only an angel could sing like this. F**k the idiotic squawking that passes as music on TV nowadays, this is true music, true art, straight from Heaven. Sound doesn't get any finer than this.

I do feel for Blanchmaine. Her husband didn't love her through no fault of her own. At the same time, he couldn't help who he loved. It was a tragedy for all involved. True, tragic, beautiful forbidden love. TxI > RxJ.

  • this song is so beautiful. very sad, but so beautiful <3

  • I've got tears streaming down my face :(

  • this song reminds me of a certain shakespherian tale.

  • @moonflame232 midsummer nights dream or romeo and juliet?

  • @buznuz1 not to mention the one in which Tristan is only a teenager when he falls in love with his uncles wife, and in turn his uncle sends him into war under the command of arthur. There he falls in love with Elaine of Astolat and gets a second chance at happiness.

  • I thought it was Sir Tristam

  • @hikarathefox depends on the version of Arthurian legends you go by

  • @MindarinSummerland dont feel sorry for Blanchmaine she caused Tristans death........

  • Poor Blanchmaine. :(

  • you mean triston and isold

  • Just a question. Wasn't Blanchemaine actually Blancheflore who was Tristan's mother? I ask this because the tales I've read and heard say that Tristan actually married Iseult due to how close her name was to Isolde. (Spelling varry)

  • @AshandAriel12 married an Iseult***

  • @AshandAriel12 You are right, her name was actually Isolde of the White Hands. Tristan in fact married her because her name and beauty resembled Isolde's. I think Heather Dale changed her name to Blanchemaine (French for White Hand) mostly because it would have been difficult for who listened to the song to tell the two Isoldes apart if she hadn't.

I hope I made myself clear, English isn't my first language, so it was a bit hard sometimes ^^

  • @JinxedInks Thanks for clearing that up. And I couldn't even tell english wasn't your first language. :D Thanks again.

  • @AshandAriel12 You're welcome, I'm glad i helped XD

  • @JinxedInks In Le Morte d' Arthur he married Isode but was in Love with Iseult. He never slept with Isode. They both healed him from nearly fatal wounds.

  • @AshandAriel12 depends on the story you read... The Arthurian tales have been twisted over the years... there're so many different versions of every story that noone knows which is the original

  • @AshandAriel12 It was probably a deliberate choice to make the song less confusing. The Iseult you're talking about is sometimes called Iseult of the White Hands - white hands = Blanchemaine.

  • her songs make me want to cry!!!T-T

  • @Rayventears No one likes trolls. Beowulf hunted down Grendel and killed him.

  • Beautiful!

  • could you please please please send me the lyrics? **

    thank you very much indeed.

  • i know the story well and named my son tristan,in his early life the story goes that he was a singer and played a stringed instrument,,he got in a fight one day and as a boy he slashed the arm of the young king,he was send to ireland wounded and scared,he had been told to bring isoult back to be married to the king, there was a potion made to give them to make them fall in love, also there was isoult the white whome he married in cornwall,he was friends with the king and felt guilty..

  • God, no matter how many times I hear this, it always gives me cold chills. I especially love the part about when Isolt's ship arrives. So powerful! Thanks for uploading this.

  • i love this song its really good

  • Why is there no ADORE button?? Love Heather!

  • this song is amazing! Thanks for uploading!!!

  • This is my favorite of Heather Dale's songs. Its epic :D

  • so just out of curiosity how was Tristan an active and know member of the round tale while all this was gong on? oh, and a bard? m afraid tend to get all my time lines mixed up...

  • @sukamysia You get your timelines mixed up because early Arthurian authors sucked at continuity. :P Not your fault at all.

  • You know i really appreciate this song since my name is ' Isolt ' which came from the Old Welsh name Isolde.... :) this made my day thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Let me get this right: They fell in love but got married to seperate people. He left her and married someone else (arranged, but still). Then he ran back to her, dragging his WIFE with him, and telling said wife that SHE had to keep vigil to see if his former LOVER was still in love with him?? That ass deserved to die. Slowly. Painfully. Who I feel sorry for here are the two women who's hearts were both broken by this jerk - especially the one he murdered with emotions.

  • @amadaria Yes there fell in love but she was forced to marry is uncle and since he couldnt stay any longer: it hurt t much: he left for king Arthur's court. He never ran back to her, he was deathly wounded and delusional {like someone on pain killers} when he told his wife, from the arranged marrige to tell him, She had to keep vigil them was just something they did then, i feel sorry for wis wife yes, but i think if he wasnt delusional from pain he wouldnt has been that callus to her

  • @amadaria Sadly, that was the way of things back then. if you were noble, you married for alliances, not love.

  • @TriaMaxwell Or money, or land, or duty. . . marriage for love is a Western European custom.

  • I realy like their music

  • The name has many, many spellings. The ones i know are: Isolde, Isault, Isolt, Isaud, and Isaude. Tristan is more commonly known as Tristram. It is Marhaus or Marhault of Marholt. Blanchemaine means White Hands ans she has also been called Isault (or a variant) of the White Hands.

  • @Tristankarim well done

  • i love this story and i love the song. she portrayed their love and story very well

  • By the way, Isolt is another form of the Celtic Iseult, which is the origin of the name Isolde. So it is correct in the song if you consider that Isolt is from Ireland, which is a Celtic country.

  • I love Heather Dale. I've seen her live and get to see her again in June-except this time she's putting on a performance in my house. One of my Uncle's friends is touring with her. I'm really excited. I want he to sing this song this time. She didn't last time I saw her.

  • beautiful. the ending is so sad! but i love it

  • I always preferred the spelling of 'Tristram'.

    Damn good song, though.

  • such a tragic love story! make me wanna cry. i donno if i feel more for poor tristan or for blanchmaine... but i feel like tristan just did what he thought right. he didn't love blanchmaine so he didn't lie to her about it... tho blanchmaine... i really do understand why'd she do such a wicked evil thing... was isolt's husband dead by then?

  • You know, I really like the way you did these lyrics. The fading is nice, the font is pretty... great way to frame up an awesome song. :-D

  • This has to be one of my favotite songs., Heather has a lovely voice. And the lyrics.... I wish i had enoough talent to actualy sing this. I love it. its sad but so romantic.

  • This song makes me cry almost every time I hear it. Heather's voice mirrors the heartbreak and passion of this romantically tragic story so perfectly, it just brings me to tears .

  • beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!

    thx!!!!!!

  • I feel bad for Blanchmaine...

  • So do I. That doesn't excuse what she did, though.

  • Very true. But I don't think she expected him to die of heartbreak for it...

  • She probably didn't.

  • @UreiNeko in the actual story she tells him, after seeing the white sails, that to her heart they may as well be black as pitch. But he mistakes her to mean that they actually are black, not just that she is heartbroken that his lover has come for him, and dies.

  • Wow. I didn't know that.....I've been trying to find the story to read it, but I couldn't. Now I feel bad. Thanks for letting me know that.

  • In the version I read, it said that she told him they were black out of jealousy, and he died. I always thought it was a very wicked and callous thing for her to do.

  • @GaladedridDamodred: It could also be suggested that willingly courting and marrying a woman, and then having absolutely nothing to do with her, is also a very wicked and callous thing to do. Tristian only showed her attention because she reminded him of Isolt, but after they married wouldn't even kiss her.

  • @VoidWalkerOblivion Which says nothing of the fact that knights were expected to be married back then, and Iseult of the White Hands was probably handed over to him by Arthur, and it would've been a great insult and meant family feuds if he'd refused. Of course, to have nothing to do with your wife is also a wicked and callous thing to do, but she really just kicked him while he was down.

  • This is amazing....it's the most beautiful song I have heard in a very long time. I saw Heather Dale live and actually had her stay with my uncle for a couple of days. She's an amazing person. I wish she had sang this at her concert...

  • once again AMAZING. Heather Dale is a musical genious. I am surprised i dont hear much about her. I would totally by her cd.

  • you can buy her stuff at cdbaby and i think soundclick too.

  • nice song!!!! *^-^*

  • I love this song! & heather dale, but in regards to TheFallOfDemise's comment, its not just in this song, Isolt was another name for Isolde, as was Iseult, Isotta & Yuseult, because in each legend the story of their love differs, from tristan, (or tristran/drustran) being a soilder, cousin of Isolde's betrothed, war lord or exile & Isolde getting pregnant, being killed, or committing suicide. Also their love being a result of a potion, trade or vision The legends our countless but all beautiful.

  • Okay... Not trying to critisize too much, but I am a freak when it comes to this. Her name was actually Isolde, although it sounds like she is saying Isolt. Just a friendly correction. Love the song and singer.

  • Well thanks for your try ^^

    But it's not a mistake i'm sorry..

I know that the right name is ISOLDE in the legend (of which i have many and many books, cause i love it :D), but the SONG is called so, as in the lyric is written "Isolt".

I have the Original Cd and The original song book with lyrics, , so uploading this video i choose to left the Name as on the Cd and the original Lyric.. As the Dale done^^

Thanks again, i hope my explanation was clear.. ^^

    Bye bye!

  • I appologize for my ignorance on such thing.

Thank you for clearing this up with me.

  • You don't need to apologize man ^^

    Your's were a right doubt :)

    See you!

    Bye bye

  • @tristano87 Hey Tristan check out my username. Anyway there are many spellings depending on which legend you read. I am reading Le Morte d' Arthur and the names are Tristram and Iseult. The first way I ever saw the names used the Isolt spelling and I loved this song so much I chose it for my user name.

  • I love Heather Dale and this is Heather at her very best.

  • @tristano87 wow that was such a polite arguement lmao

  • it ACTUALLY has many spelling. Isolt, Isolde, Iseult, etc. While you are both correct, I stand by. Great video btw.

  • @TheFallOfDemise It's been written Isolde, Isold, Iseult, Isotta, Isolt, just as Tristan's name could be Tristram, Drustan, Triste... It's a very, very old story. The names aren't important. The story is.

  • @TheFallOfDemise The name changes with each varient. The legend is so old and told in so many places written translated misinterpreted that the names shift. Isolde was the saxon spelling of the gaelic Isolt. french latin ECT it changes with each translation originally I believe it was Iseult originally. Isolde was the popularized spelling via the German Opera

  • @TheFallOfDemise

I know this was already cleared up but Isolde goes by many names. Iseult, Iseo, Yseult, Isode, Isoude, Esyllt, and Isotta. I think Isolt is the more Celtic version of the name.

  • @TheFallOfDemise

Actually there are several ways to spell her name I've seen Isolte, Isault, Isolde, and Isoulde all three. It depends on the translation coming from La Morte D'Arthur, or whether it comes from the Gaelic tales, or various other old english versions. There are also a few spellings of Tristan, Tristin, Trystan, Tristen. This story is one of many Knights of the Round Table and his tragic love.

  • This is my favorite song of all the 21 years I've lived.

Thanks for just being you Heather. You'r unique.

  • Ahh, I love this. Beautiful song, thanks for the send.

  • well done

  • So beautiful, this song tells the legend perfectly.

  • <3 Tristan and Isolt and all of the amazing Arthurian legends.

  • Lovely^^

Like to expect of heather dale :D

    Thanks for the send ^^
