  • These old 302's do sound badass but I don't hear they much since they're always behind me lol. They are pretty slow compared to more modern cars that people take out onto the street. They are just outdated now, and their time to shine has come and gone.

  • @fullmetaljacktt Government Motors lol that's pretty good... that just means GM built a better car than Ford yet again after having to COMPLETELY REDESIGN the Camaro ON A BUDGET after a 6 year period of not having made a single Camaro. Again, they decided to go with an older engine design instead of using the OHC design like Ford and they still perform better. Sure the GT outruns the SS but that's because of power-weight. It's cheaper to make a a car lighter than to add more power hahaaaaa.

Back the 90s when chevy had 350s in their zs and were using a 3:73 rear end gear and comparing them to mustang gts that were 302s or even worse 281s using 3:08 or 3:27 gears you guys were loving it...now you are gonna hate on ford for making a nice muscle car...you still have the zl1 camaro coming out so stop whining...

  • @fullmetaljacktt Yes we are making more HP... like I stated off of older technology. Ford dropped the pushrod motor hoping to get a technological advantage over GM with the OHC design... that didn't do JACK SHIT lol. Just made their motor's heavier and very over-anticipated. I like GM, but I would have LOVED to see Ford keep the pushrod design like GM did and just make improvements. I mean the Windsor was a good motor at the time, imagine if they had kept it and improved it?

  • @fullmetaljacktt And we are also outperforming boosted Ford motors on all motor XD. LS1 f bodies can hit high 12s in bone stock form. No Ford from the 90's can ever dream about that. And stop talking about HP. HP is not nearly as important a torque. HP sells the car and gets idiots like you to become attracted to a vehicle. But out racing, torque is what wins the race. And for the 351w, thats a decent motor... except it can only hold maybe 500hp before you have problems. Crappy 2 bolt mains.

  • @need2speed94 its according to what you call bone stock...there are 5.0s that hit in the 12s and even elevens with nothing but bolt ons and n/a so i dont know what you are talking about. its still a 5.0 vs a 5.7...where are the chevy 5.0s? oh thats right they stopped making the 305 cause they were crap. What about the new 5.0? Thats what i am interested in. theres more to it then just hp and torque btw

  • @fullmetaljacktt Uhh I don't think a foxbody or SN95 5.0 could EVER hit 12s BONE STOCK you said bolt ons lol. *maybe the SN95 5.0 cobra, maybee. And yea, chevy made a smart decision to drop a motor that they thought wasnt good enough. Ford just used a new design that they thought was good and really wasn't lol. And yes the new GT 5.0s are very quick, you cant deny that. But the only reason they 'beat' the new SS is purely power - weight. I say its the IRS but who knows.

  • @need2speed94 a lot of people have a different opinion of stock. As far as i know the fbody zs where running mid to high 13s from the factory. I really never kept up with it because no one leaves their car stock anymore anyway. most drag racers prefer straight axle to irs..i like how you keep saying its purely power weight ratio...thats the whole point isn't it? the more you weigh the more power you need...it's chevys fault for making their car too heavy or not putting the power there to pull it

  • @fullmetaljacktt They can actually run anywhere from 12.9 to 14s in bad weather/high altitude and a bad driver lol. And yes straight axle is much better for straight line performance, that's why I don't like the new 5th gens at all. And all the IRS on the 5th gens does is weigh them down, because obviously it doesn't help a damn bit on that track hah, they blow for circuit racing. Power to weight is important, but its a lot cheaper to lose weight (what GM needs) than add power (what Ford needs).

I had an older camaro at one point. I will give it credit it was hard to break(at least the engine was). I am still waiting on the day ford and chevy make an awd camaro or mustang...that would be heaven

  • @billy1427 What do you mean? 302 have no more torque than the 281's to my knowledge. Mustangs from mid 80s until around 2010 all had right at 300TQ give or take about 15? which 15 really makes no difference.

  • @SuRihtanil My dad has a '06 and I've driven it. It just doesnt have that snappy feel like the pushrod motor unless your way high in rpms.

  • Damn, that sounds bad ass. I miss my '95, I may be getting one in a few days though thats a hard top. My last one was a vert and I didnt feel comfortable driving it. This hard top im looking at is bad ass though.

  • @mda21996 I have a foxbody coupe, and a 97 gt...to be honest, the 97 looks amazing while rolling, well its just looks better overall imo....but to each their own though lol

  • @mda21996 In terms of styling maybe...I happen to like them,I own a 95 as well as an 89 fox body coupe...all 79-04 mustangs basically share the same platform. However these cars are have a stiffer chassis albeit a bit heavier, and better braking.

    Really not a bad option if you're looking for an inexpensive stang to play with.

  • Indeed they are. 94-95 are the best ones IMO, disc brakes, better suspension, still had the venerable 5.0 under the hood and oh so easy to work on. That sound.....made me go outside and start mine up just to hear it lol.

  • bassani muffs, o/r x-pipe, longtube headers. The o/r x-pipe and LT headers are mostly what gives it this unique sound. LTs are usually a bitch to put on, but they sound incredible.

  • i read an articel in 50 mustangs magazine and they did a test with just bout all the mufflers, and the loudest was bassani.i have a 95 gt that is pretty loud, i went with bbk long tube headers off road h pipe and flowmasters with no tail pipes.i am switching over to an o/r x pipe and bassani cat back though.bassani catback is expensive $700.

  • I'm almost certain, as far as exhaust goes, this guy has Bassani. There's another video of a 95GT that installed Bassani exhaust, and besides the Cam lope, it sounds remarkably similar.

  • The 5 speed Fox cars were not that slow but the AOD cars were dogs. The first time i took my 91GT AOD to the track it was stock except an k&n filter and it went 16.0s. Thats slower than a civic at least the one I raced. I will never forget that night. That was the beginning of my addiction to summit racing.

  • the 1987-1993 5.0's were 215 hp/ 300 ft/lbs

    the 1996-1998 4.6's were 240 hp/240 ft/lbs

    the 1999-2004 gt's were 260 hp/ 260 ft/lbs

    the 2005-current gt's are 300 hp/ 310 ft/lbs

    now the foxbodies 87-93 5.0's made the least amount of peak horsepower, but were the lightest and therefor the quickest 0-60 except for the new ones.

  • actually the 1987-1988 with speed density were rated at 225hp,when they went to Mass Air in 1989 they dropped to 215hp.

  • where did you get these stats? b/c they're ass wrong. the 96-98s with the non pi motor only made 215-225 hp at the flywheel (dont know torque off the top of my head. the 99-04 with the pi motor made 260 horse and 305 torque. i dont know what the 5.0's made but in stock form they're fuckin slow.
