  • Love this video, keep them coming. Also, can you also review the D4 when it comes out? Thanks :-)

  • @geonlansis We plan on reviewing it :P. I know I'm particularly excited about it myself. Hopefully it's released very soon.

  • @2dphotography Somewhere mid to late February, just if you didn't know ;) hehehe makes me wish I went for Nikon instead :( I'm practically killing myself watching Nikon videos as a canon user

  • @BrandonKingVloggin Yes I've already got myself on the wait list. Hopefully they are not in short supply. I don't want to say Nikon is better, only that I like them better :P. Dont fret.

  • have you tried using the blueslr on the D7000 to connect an iPad as a remote monitor ..., any suggestions ....?, thanks

  • D90 was the d7000's predecessor

  • huge hands

  • @TheLordVoltron The D7000 is actually a small camera.

  • what was the lens on the d7000 in last part of the video ?

  • @AbdulAziz348 That was the Nikon 50mm 1.4G - although I have to say I like the Sigma 1.4 a LOT more.

  • @2dphotography ah thank you , yes it looks way better .

  • looks like autofocus isn't very good is it? .. and by the way what camera were you using to make this video? .. thanks a lot for your videos ;)

  • @JustJosefh I wouldn't recoomended the auto focus for anything "professional" but I mean if you're shooting for funzees then why not! We shot this review with the Nikon D3s. And you're very welcome. Thank YOU!

  • luv it thanks for taking the time to make this :))

  • awesome review

  • I appreciate the review but please get your facts right. There is not a magnesium body, just a top plate. Also if you want people to focus and listen, lose the cheesy background music. Keep doing a good job.

  • Yesterday I had my hands on the D5100 and D7000 and definitely the best and most comfortable is the D7000 is a bit heavy but it makes much better comfort in your hands!

    BUYING IN JANUARY :3...Loading...loading...Loading...

  • What's the name of the song in 8:03?

  • you couldn't do this review better.

  • i love your skin, which facial cream are u using? la mer?

  • How much is it?

  • Thanks a lot , one of the best reviews . it was very helpfull

  • this 7000 review video itself looks very good.. which Camera and lens you used for this?

  • Grate review!

I have a D70s , will its battery work in the 7000? and I also wanted to know if the preview of the images is easier to see in this screen, because on my D70s it's impossible to when you're out under the sun, and I cannot check if everything is ok.

  • @xihiro the d7000 uses a new battery, the En-El15, so your d70s battery wont work with it. The d7000's screen is the same fantastic 921,000 pixel screen from the d90, d3, d700,etc. so you probably will not have any problem with viewing pictures under the sun (at least I dont have).

  • @awkwardemperor You're shooting in RAW and JPEG mode, giving you copies of the same picture in 2 formats. Just disable this in your menu and it will only produce a RAW or JPEG file, whichever you choose.

  • great review guys really enjoyed it and is definitely helped me understand what i'm paying for

  • 1080p 24p? awesome video camera!

  • I've had this camera since December and you just taught me a few things I didn't know about it 8 months later. Thanks :) Great review. I love my D7000

  • Just got this camera.... thanks for the review... great job.

  • Great video

  • d9 battery will work on d7000?

  • is it just me or does it look really small on this video !!

  • Think I will upgrade to this from the D90 ^^ Great video!

  • I love you by the way, keep making videos but what is that lens on the Nikon D7000 at 6 minuets, the front one.

  • I bought a Nikon d7000 and I used it a couple times and noticed that the flashes yellow. Is it supposed to be like that?

  • Which one is best, d3100 or d7000? I'd really appreciate your answer because I have no idea which one to choose

  • @maryoom2hayat3e Which one is best ferrari f430 or ferrari f1? 4x better d7000 is a semiprofessional camera,d3100 is a entrylevel camera. If you want something close to d7000 go to buy d5100.

  • this is the first review i haven't gotten bored watching!!! nice job and keep them coming!!

  • WELL DONE!!!

  • Great job guys!

  • one guy has got a canon ;)

  • one of the best reviews i've watched. keep em comin mate. good job

  • @nightdrifterable Thanks!

  • That standard song makes me think of Digitalrev Tv and Kai!

  • From 0:07 to 0:20 is that a stick tripod? Made by stick?

  • @Zeignn sorry, it's just a regular 'ol lightstand that was spun around :P

  • What was used to film this video?

  • @lg123xyz We used the Nikon D3s

  • so is this the best from nikon?

  • @ROL332 i feel the difference among what appears semi professional and pro is smaller today. d7000 is perhaps all many of us want. go to... freedslr . cong change cong with com and try to get a chance to win completely new Nikon D7000

  • thanks for the review. I especially like how you showed how the auto focus video worked.

  • @jonathandeutsch Thanks, we thought it might be a feature people would really appreciate seeing. Especially after using it ourselves.

  • How tall is this guy? the d7000 looked so small in his hands.

  • @sanamagan123 Everyone at 2D lol'ed pretty good at this comment. For the record, I'm 6'1" :)

  • @sanamagan123 Also, even though that's not really too tall, the black table we shot this on is one I built specially for myself, so I'm standing and the table is nearly 4' tall because I prefer not to bed too much ;) - so it may throw people off, thought it was worth mentioning

  • @2dphotography I just bought a d7000 yesterday! Many thanks for your review. I love my camera!

  • I love the cheesy Sims music. ;-)

  • Went to connect my Pocket Wizard....guess what...there is no Flash Sync Terminal to attach the cable...you need to buy AS-15, and then the PW does not fit on the top of that....sucks

Focus tracking is frustrating when you have more than one face in the frame, and it keeps picking the wrong one....who do you change faces???

  • @stevemlockwood You don't need a sync cable to attach a pocket wizard, just put the wizard on top, and into the hot shoe mount, and that's all you need! :)

  • Hi, I've been saving up for this camera, then im gonna be buying this very soon, what would be the best recommended lens for portrait for D7000? I'm looking at Nikkor 24-70mm, but it's for FX camera. Would the quality be compromise of the conversion something? Or should i go for 17-55mm which is also a pro lens but for DX camera. I wanted to have zoom pro lens, but not the 70-200mm vr II yet. pls reply

  • wheres the screen protecter?

  • @Rebel4Tech Yes, this body does actually come with a screen protector, but I kind of hate them so I removed it before shooting this video. I probably should have mentioned that.

  • what'd you guys film this with?

  • @nwarken Filmed with Nikon D3s

  • thanks for the review i just brought this cam today

  • @ericdajerk You're welcome!

  • Came across your channel and wanted to say THANKS! Some great info while enjoying it!! Quick question. I know there isn't usually only one correct answer, but im selling my current gear and moving over to Nikon. I'm eying up the D7000 but im unsure of which lenses to grab. My initial thoughts are the 24-70 & 70-200 (hoping to stick with 2.8's) but im kind of worried about the coverage on a DX body? Playing around at a local henry's (oakville/Miss area) is somewhat limiting. Thoughts? THANKS!

  • @xGIBROx Hey, thanks! Well I have to be honest, those are some serious lenses. If you've got that kind of cash I'd almost urge you to go with a fullframe. There are some downsides however like the D700 is due to be replaced sometime soon, while the D7000 is totally "state of the art". It's a tough time right now to be getting into a serious DX vs FX battle. My suggestion would be if you're really serious about it, go FX. The 2.8s are great lenses but I think you'd be missing out on the DX.

  • @2dphotography Im mainly considering the 24-70 nikkor, the 70-200 will probably be the sigma due to price... for now. I thought about going FX but the prices for a used D700 is still more than a new D7000, so i figured put the money towards the glass now and after getting a year or two of this body i have options pending how far i want to go with this. UNLESS the D700 still betters the D7000 by a large amount. Was worried if DX would cripple the lens workability, if so i may opt for the 17-55.

  • @xGIBROx Well in that case I'd strongly recommend the 17-55. It's still a 2.8 and a much more useable range for a DX body. It's a great lens the only catch is that you'd have to upgrade if you eventually went FX. But the D7000 will last you longer then a D700, so if you're gunning for it, drop the 24-70 I think and you're looking much better. Hope that helps.

  • @2dphotography Man youre a quick replier!!! :) Again all thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated, will ponder about this a little bit longer as i dump off my other system. Again thanks for taking the time to answer my questions, wish you and 2D all the best. Cant wait for future videos from you guys.

    Take Care!

  • @xGIBROx By the way, if you have more questions when it comes time to purchase, head to Vistek on Mavis near Britannia!! Talk to Jaques - he's there a lot on the weekend and he's my guy :P. I'm sure he'd even hook you up if you mention my name and that I suggested you go to see him.

  • @2dphotography Again thanks for all of your thoughts. I ended up getting the D7000 along with the Nikkor 17-55, such a great little combo. Now i just need to get myself a tele for enhanced portraits (bokeh and subject separation) and some sports. I was liking the 70-200 vr1 but i think again because of the crop factor that it might be a little bit on the far end? Especially if i want it for portraits? The Sigma 50-150 HSM II seems pretty decent but hard to come by these days. All the best!

  • @xGIBROx Congrats on the new gear :). That's a really tough call, in all honesty, I'd say the 70-200 will still do you pretty well. First look at sports, you want as much reach as you can usually, 70-200 on a crop body gets you about 105-300 which is more reach than the sigma, the glass is sharper too. In fact, you may find you want even more reach then that at some point.. Personally I find that for sports you nearly always want a crazy amount of reach to get those breathtaking shots.

  • @xGIBROx as for portraits, I actually shoot mine around 105. Now that my just be my preference but I like to shoot at fairly high focal lengths to minimize any distortion in a person's face. Just my two cents. Congrats again and enjoy :)

  • @2dphotography You make some fantastic points!! Would there be a little bit of a gap between my two lenses being that the 17-55 is a DX lens? If so I guess i could throw in a prime.

  • @2dphotography Again just wanted to say thanks for sharing all of your thoughts. I was able to play around with a 50-150 and 70-200 and i must say that i agree with your comments above. I was somewhat surprised once i had the two lenses in my hands, the 70-200 just felt to be the better choice for me. Id like to score a nikon copy, but from the little testing i was doing with the Sigma HSM II it seemed pretty darn good. I can score a great price for one, or is the VR1 that much better?

  • Hi i want to buy a dslr very badly, but really confused to choose between nikon d7000,canon 60D and pentax k5...your advise is much appreciated...i want to choose one from these three but cant really make up my mind for one........plz help

  • @varghese070 Well, nothing against Pentax, but I always recommend Nikon or Canon over Pentax simply because when it comes time to future purchasing, you have a lot more option. That being said, I am a bit partial to the D7000, I think that as a still camera, it blows the 60D out of the water, however that 60D does have a better sensor for video, so it's dependant on what you want to use this camera for... good luck!

  • @2dphotography thanks a mill bro........i may go4nikon d7000!!!!!!!am not a photographer but i believe in buying a decent dslr which has all features which a camera can deliver, anyway your reviews are great and video quality is awesome......god bless...keep it up.......

  • Thanks man!! I do use most stills then movies......so to your recommendation the D300s is a better stills cam? And the body...I heard that the 7000 is only half magnesium, and the 300s is full covered?

  • @nirhadded I don't really know about that to be honest, I'd just check with Nikon in that case.

  • hello...great!! rev....what are your recommendation D7000 or D300s??

  • @nirhadded it really depends. I think for a professional, the D300s still slightly beats out the D7000 in terms of still photography. For video, there's no questions at all that the 7000 blows the 300s out of the water. But I like the build and body and overall funcionality of the 300s over the 7000 for professional use. Not to mention things like batteries and memory cards (I always prefer CF cards over SD) and stuff.

  • How do you compare EOS 7D and D7000, i'm intersted especially in build quality? can i know your opinion?

thanks for your time and for your vids

  • @denisdf You're welcome! The 7D i think is built a little less ruggedly than the D7000. And as far as stills go, I think the D7000 is the clear winner, however the opposite is true for video.

  • I'm looking into purchasing my first camera. SLR cameras seem to be for the more advanced photographers so i'm looking into point and shoot cameras but I would like one that would have some SLR features so i can get a feel for actual SLR cameras without investing too much money. I've come across the Nikon P7000 and the Canon G12, I know you're a Nikon user but I was wondering if you have a fast point and shoot camera that you use and could recommend. good vid btw.

  • @TheYork127 Hey,

TheYork127, I don't actually have a point and shoot at the moment ironically enough. My last one broke and i just never got around to picking up another. I'm not too sure about either of those specific models but in all honesty I think the Canon G12 would probably be great. My reason being my FIRST EVER camera was a G2 and I remember how fantastic it was at the time. So I'm sure the G12 would probably be great. Also I know 2 pro photographers that use the G10, so yeah...

  • hows is weather proof?? is it gonna survive in a visit to the beach in light shower?

  • @victor1994 Weather proofing is pretty good. I'd say it would survive a light shower no problem, however the beach is always a potentially bad place for any camera (just for the record). I don't think the weather proofing can be beat at this price range.

  • what camera you are using to take video

  • @bakhtiyar3 Used a Nikon D3s to shoot this video

  • 16.2 MEGAPIXEL! JESUS CHRIST ID LOVE TO HAVE THAT CAMERA RIGHT NOW!

  • imm having a really hard time deciding between the d300s or the d7000, anyone help please?

  • @ithree6mafia It really depends on your needs. I think if you're looking for a really powerful, versiitle and professional still camera, the D300s may be the better choice. If you're looking for something that packs a bit more punch with the side of video, the D7000. Or if you're looking for something a bit smaller and easier to use, the D7000. The D300s in my opinion is still a slightly better still camera although 1 more thing to consider are memory cards (since they take different types)

  • @2dphotography yes exactly i like a big camera, so weight is actually what i want. i like the weight and size, and very pro feel of the d300s, and i like better how it can hold CF and SD better than the d7000 with only 2 SD. doesnt the d300s have autofocus in video mode? or i might just wait for the d300s upgrade. thanks for answering :)!

  • @ithree6mafia Well, the video mode for the D300s is NOT full manual, wich means if you're capturing video you'll notice the ISO changing to try and stay balanced, it makes the video mode of the D300s nearly useless in my opinion. As well, I would not use the autofocus in either camera since it's decent at best. If you're hoping for some great video, perhaps waiting is a great idea!

  • Nice DOF in the vid. What did you shoot this with?

  • @MandrakeCigars Thanks, Nikon D3s :)

  • Should I get d90 or d7000?? Anyway I'm not interested in shooting videos, and I wonder if i purchase D7000, will the kit lens be good enough? Or should I get D90 and maybe use the left over money to purchase a second hand lens?

  • @seethroughlens Well, I think you'd be better off with the D7000. It will last you a very long time and although the D90 is a great camera, the 7000 just blows it out of the water in every way (forgetting about video). Get what you can for now, and in the future you'll be really happy with the 7000. Remember, this camera will last you a long time, so you'll likely be able to pick up more lenses as time goes on :) gl!

  • I have a question maybe you can help me, see i was looking at the Canon 60D for price plus quality. Then i saw this one and supposedly it's much better of course it's more expensive but hey if i was going to pay 1,300.00 dollars for something i might as well spend a little more for something better. What do you suggest?

  • @MedicAlv1 Well, for still photographs, I would go with the D7000! You'd be very happy. However for video there is very little question that I'd go with the 60D. It, in my opinion, has a superior sensor for video.

  • do you know when the sucessors of the d300 and the d700 will get on the market?

I'll go for one of the when they get out soon, otherwise I'd buy a d7000

  • @Spaeckli Sorry, no idea at the moment

  • What should I get for my first camera if I'm focusing on more of video? The canon 2ti or the nikon d7000? Is the 7000 worth getting if my family has some nikon lens?

  • @TheNxtLife I think the D7000 is a bit better for video. If you can though, I'd go with the 60D from Canon

  • Is it true if you shoot in the video mode the AF will make the noisy?

  • @NoungAlien11 Yes, if you're using the the AF in video mode, most lenses will make a lot of noise, you'd want to use an external microphone for sure.

  • How do you Compare the D3s video vs The D7000?

  • @JiggerBooWigger Well obviously the D7000 shoots 1080p which is great, and at 720 will shoot 30fps. Those are two big advantages. However due to it's mass it's less stable when shooting handheld compared to the D3s. Also the D3s has nice manual function in movie mode, especially things like changing the audio level and aperture while in liveview, whereas in the D7000 you must go through the menu change sound, and get out of liveview to change aperture. But both have similar contrast/colour :)

  • Great review. What kind of camera did you use to record this?

  • @ShakeAndBakeGuy Thank you, we used a couple of Nikon D3s's. Until getting the D7000, all of our videos have been shot using these cameras.

  • Can you post sound of quiet shutter mode in liveview, and burst in liveview?

  • @cdiddca I don't think we'll post the sound of those in liveview, but you can take my word (for what it's worth) that the sound and performance is exactly the same. In liveview, when using burst the screen just stays black until you're done shooting.

  • food review, but, the background music level is too high

  • Thank for review. i hope you get 2nd part.

  • @EZJUDO We hope to have a sample of the video up some time next week :)

  • Thanks! good review.

  • @nicosax72 You're very welcome :)
