I have to say mate this is tremendous. Great vocal. I first heard this song when I was very young. The version I heard was performed by ROY GUEST with THE TENNESSEE THREE & JACK FALLON from and album called Cowboy. I could never get this on CD. Some other great tracks such as Mountain Dew too. Anyway great stuff :-)
You're really awesome!! the only part of folk which I like is listening to you, I never cared too much about folk but you are just so good and ispiring!
Well, thank you very much! These sorts of comments give one energy and desire to keep on singing and playing. But I also enjoy lots of the other musicians who make Youtube such a great musical experience.
Thanks very much for these words. My wife used to sing this song with me, and, oddly, my "higher vocal" ended up sounding a lot like her voice, though in fact it is my own. Next time I'll get her to sing it.
People's tendencies tend converge when they live together don't they? Your vocals were perfect Sir. But, I would listen either way. You are totally welcome. And by the way "thanks for all you've shown us."
You are welcome. Actually, Jimmy Rodgers introduced most of us to this old cowboy song. The Weavers also had a beautiful rendition, part of which is reflected in the second voice I used as a backup. Yes, it's a great song.

@bloobear1 Thanks, friend. Notes like these encourage me to keep on youtubing, if that can be considered a verb.

I love it! Very very nice. I like the reverb and the higher vocal reflections/harmonies too.
