i have many friends that as kids never knew what love was, they are now bipolar schizophrenic and in some way mentally hurt, parents never realize that what they say or do affects their kids for the rest of their life

It is such a funny thing, fearing youth, considering they are of our own making! Some people talk about teenagers like they're aliens. There are some bad apples who do terrible things, but they are all raised by us (collectively) and are a product of us, so it's not like they invented the hate and violence they spew. Maybe if the older generations stopped running in fear of the younger ones and we had more of a an age-integration in our communities we could come to understand one another better.

Their has been a deliberate agenda carried out since 2003, well, it was 2003 when I noticed it. I first noticed it in the local news papers, then it became heavy in the media, as the bible says , neighbour against neighbour, and between father and son.

All our children need more love.

I am near to 45 years old today and I still have very fond memories of my granddad. Though I recognize a lot of what you are saying, my grandad encouraged me and taught me a lot when I was little!

I work in a nursery and many children get love and like confused.

It something that needs to be told to them now a days! I also got sent this email and believe its true :) I could imagine a small child doing that, as many other children i look after will sit by another child if they are crying and they will smile and stay till they are ok :)

This was interesting. I´m 14 years old and I talk with my grandmother and grandad, but when i think closer I haven´t talk much anything deep... My moms mother died this year and it was of course sad. Now I can say that I should spoke with her more.

English school children are some of the rudest I have ever encountered. I am not saying that all English children are rude. However, I question the discipline level in English schools.

Same in the US. My cousin's young son was so well behaved and polite when he was homeschooled, but after three days of kindergarten at a public school he came home cursing and spitting and yelling and disobeying his parents! It must be hard to keep a child in line knowing what's acceptable behavior and what isn't when your child is hanging around these rude kids 7 hours a day whose parents leave it to the school to "parents" them. 1 teacher can't be a "parent" to an overcrowded class of 30!

You make some very good points, Peter. And I do agree that YouTube has become, in a way, a melting pot through which old and young generations are communicating, in ways they never have before. It's by no means universal, but through the sharing of videos, the young are experiencing the wisdom of the old, and the old are experiencing the wisdom of the young. And yes, some young people have MUCH wisdom to share.
