ok Metalocolypse is the show, they have no control over Dethklok the real band. They release their own albums using "WilliamStreet" recordings. I hate people that only know the fake Dethklok.

Considering that Brendon Small is the lead creator for both the show and the actual band, and that most songs on the albums are enhanced and rewritten versions from the show that were written for the show first, there is definitly a significant amount of influence on the album from the show (not complete, but significant.) The show also advertises the actual band Dethklok so they don't even need to advertise. I doubt the band would be anywhere near as popular without the show coming out first.
