Whoever likes raw, technical thrash RIP is the deal. Same goes with Punishment and less same with No more color. The rest of the albums are equally masterpieces for different reasons than RIP/Punishment/NMC. However, they are more sweet/gentle and audible for a mainstream fan, but still are proof Coroner made it till 1993 with good memorial riffs. Still sad few had heard their first two monumental albums. Really, even God cant write an Arc-Lite..
i got mental vortex, and i gotta say, idk if it's the best album i've heard, but it's certainly the catchiest! fucking crazy heavy stuff on there! \m/
haha...Some may not notice but Canadian Hip-hop group Swollen Members has the "Tunnel of Pain" riff in their song "Lady Venom"....Don't worry, still a die-hard headbanger but keep an open mind in music.
@ThrashMetalRiffs yeah, they got totally ripped off, imho... so many "metal" fans havent heard this band, and man they blew things away like a nuclear detonation, RIP , if that was released today, people would be just as blown away, actually, i reckon it would have more of an impact than it did then, cos a lot of good metal bands were putting out great music, but these daze i think its rare to find this kind of true to roots brutal metal, rock on!!
When it comes to Coroner, I listen almost exclusively to the magnificient last two albums (GRIN and MENTAL VORTEX). Not that the other ones aren't good, but G and MV are in a league of their own. I have the same feeling for the last two albums of ANACRUSIS (I like them both equally, just like G and MV) and DEATHROW (although Deception Ignored is clearly the better one).
Nice video! Good call on "Son of Lilith", "When Angels Die", "Masked Jackal" and "Why It Hurts". What I would have included: either 0:54-1:25 or 4:28-5:41 of "Devine Step" chorus, solo or 2:47-3:02 of "Pale Sister" opening riff (first 10 seconds) of "Suicide Command" chorus/solo of "Serpent Moves" all chorus riffs of "Grin" verses and "HATE!" parts of "Status: Still Thinking" verses and choruses of "Metamorphosis" etc.
Riffs o solos?
