I also think that they were very important, almost no airplay here. Thankfully there was a music store here that stocked only alternitive music. bought the double cd version of disgraceful for 60 dollars, what a bargain...

Just had a listen to "In My Defence" and it is indeed a beautiful song. EMI were doing what they'd done for years in making the first album a gem. Then they'd blow some good work on singles and hurry out a second album, then a 3rd. I met Steve Hillier when Disgraceful had made it big.

He said: you have all the time in the world to make your first record and then you're expected to reel out the next one in a few months!

The 3rd album was a dismal failure.

Highly underrated (at least in the US), one of my favorite bands. The songwriting is fantastic, and Sarah has the perfect voice to convey the layers in the lyrics. Honestly, even a listen to some b sides reveals what a treasure they were. Wish they could get it together to regroup!

This was just the best single ever, the harmonie etc just blew me, dispite collecting everything by dubstar the vocals by sarah are what i love, meet her the other week after she

had done her set with client, so glad dubstar are on their way back, but what ever you do sarah im a huge fan.

Yep. sarah Blackwood, along with Chris Wilkie on guitar and Paul Hillier programming/vocals... I first heard them do a cover of gary Numan's "everyday I die" - and was taken by the vocals and the guitar/synth sound - familiar yet unique. In the US, "Goodbye and "the best of..." are available. You're 10 years too late, as this was '96... but, happily, It appears they're getting back together... not for sentiment, but great songs...
