she only sounds older in the first episodes. the further the story goes, the higher her voice. check out episode 25 for example. her voice is much higher. It's the same with luchia from mermaid melody. in the beginning her voice is low, and it gets higher.

I also prefer the manga o: The anime ending is way too sad..I can't even watch it. And the voice actor does sound too old. The manga has a better storyline and is less sad XD
