I flew Tower Air my first time I travelled to the US from Israel in 1987.. $600- roundtrip with an open ticket for 6 months!! those were the days where you got deals..and meals too..
I remember flying Tower Air back in 1998! I was living in California and we took a trip to the east coast a year before actually moving to New Jersey. And I also do recall seeing "Exit Salida" sign and I had no idea what "Salida" meant...but then later on I realized it was a Spanish word for Exit.
This safety video scary!!! The low quality of the safely video and you can tell its very old besides that you can smoke on flights there are no lighted paths to guide you to a exit on the floor or doors in case of fire it would have been scary to fly back then
Welcome on board tower air. Your safety is our least concern. The oxygen masks do not work and our life vests cannot inflate because we are too lazy to put in the inflator thingie... And our flight attendants don't give a shit about you. Our main concern is to sleep in the first class area. Thank you for your attention, our pilot will crash the plane for no reason so don't enjoy your flight while I smoke in the first class cabin. That's what tower air is like everybody.
The female flight attendant hosting the video looks kinda cute. If Panini (in Cartoon Network's "Chowder") were human, she'd look like her. I kinda like her...
Too bad there's no way to image-capture from a Flash video; I really like how she smiles in 2:44 (after she says "...have a nice flight!") - at that point I can imagine she's saying "Hi, Chowder!" in her head. (But I'm not her boyfriend!! - LOL)
You know, I kind of see where your going with that. She does kind of look and act like Panini. But still, this is the last freaking place I would expect to find a Chowder comment! lol. BTW, I doubt Chowder (Piri Piri) or Panini even existed in CH Greenblatts mind when this video was shown on planes.
I'm just saying that if she mentioned a slide raft, in an evacuation people who have never been on a plane wouldn't have to say reffering to the slide raft., "What the hell is that thing?" lol
in 1820 a man named fredrick osloft one day he was working in his lab until a ghost came by and killed him the next morning fredrick was nowhere to be seen 100 years later two boys went in the lab as a dare the boys where never seen again where aparently murdered now that u have read this comment tonight when u go to sleep the two boys and fredrick will come and murder you but you can stop this by posting this comment on 5 other videos by midnight im sorry i relly hate these things :'(
Back in the 1980s airlines used 747 as they had not yet gone towards frequency (over capacity) - Also airlines tend to assign all of their widebodies to international routes
Well from what I know, after it flew from Tel Aviv and landed in New York, it would use the same plane and go from New York to Los Angeles - They did that kind of thing a lot in the 80's and 90's =D
As a Former Employee of Tower Air I can vouch for the fact that it was a complete flying shithole. Be thankful you never had to endure the piss laden carpets around the lavatories.
Really? Wow, I neve heard of this airline. But if two former employees says it was a shithole, I take your word for it! How long did it survive and what else was bad about working for them?
I was a Flight Attendant for Tower from 19912-1994, and Yes, you could smoke on our international flights, it was hell! and I agree with those who thought Tower was a shithole, it was a stepping stone to a real airline.
Did they hire a high school TV/Media class to make this video, or something? That is by far the worst airline safety video in history. I've seen class projects more professionally made than that.
The aircraft is pressurized both for comfort, and that the pressure difference will not be to great so that the plane doesn't get fatigue on the fuselage. Before, planes were made of more metal fuselage. These days they use more and more aluminum. Therefor, older planes will be exposed to damage at flight level. That's why 787 has pressure set at around 6000 ft because of different materials, versus the older generations up to 11,000 ft in pressure!
Really, Lahayea? every aircraft I've ever worked on has a "power assist" function which will take over and throw the door out and deploy the slide once the control lever has been even slightly turned.
Zoom's video isn't cheap, it's animated like half of the safety videos out there. Zoom at least has the video in Canada's both official languages, and I love the French accent!
Salt and pepper hair and is a very nice guy !

Wait? Panini used to be a flight attendant? An ugly flight attendant?
TheRealChowder 2 years ago
Perhaps in some alternate-reality world... where characters in "Chowder" are human.
And the FA hosting this video isn't ugly; in fact, I like her because she's cute, just like Panini, her animated counterpart.

The aircraft is pressurized for our comfort, she says? No, it's actually pressurized to allow life to continue at altitude.

True! Now airbus pressurizes the cabin up 3 times as much as any other pressurized aircraft.
