those kids are working there during their summer break to get some money and see the job as a barbier. thats like a placement for the kids to see and decide what they will do in future. the job as a barbier in Turkey is very hard. you will not be rich with this job. you can only pay your bills and feed your family. the kids see the hard conditions there and most of them decide to study, to learn in school. their aspiration is to get better jobs after study. i lived in Turkey and i know this.
@Lesbiwolf92 No, they learn it in a short time, some do these kind of work, the others wish dishes, try to make music, or other stuff, like a modern "Ghetto" life, everyone can do the light work
What's interesting with turkish barbers is that they seem to pay great attention to every detail. They'll do a perfect job and take the time they need to accomplish it. That's the kind of spirit more people need.
In New Zealand, health and Safety regulations prevent shaving in barber shops (if you can find one) Don't you just hate the Nanny states that say you can't have someone shave your face with a razor.!
As for this guy doing the shave and hair cut, christ he is good
@mav3r1ck69 Slightly wrong there I was, as long as you have several hundred qualifications, passed numerous tests and been certified by the relevant organisation, then you can... no wonder I can't find one, who'd bother.
uhhhggg, i am at least half as relaxed as the man in the chair! these just chill me right out i can alsmot feel the tingling in my skin. i want to sleep now!
wish there were some of these barbers in canada...
I watched this twice in succession and was falling asleep both times, it was so soothing and I could feel the massage on my head and neck. Great job! great barber!
It's good to have male barbers...they know what men what. I'm tired of all these female stylish salons that mess up mens hair. I went to a turkish barber today...and I was very impressed...he wasn't as good a conversation as the itallian barber I had a few years back, but when he did the flame thing to the ear...i was impressed...it felt like that little bit of extra service.
@iwillplayforgumbo better working than hanging around street corners! Iwas working part time at 11yrs and that is in uk tho it wouldnt be allowed now with the british nanny state.
generally Turkish barbers are very skillful and proud of their works , but don't expect to get massaged extensively as in this video at every shop .. I guess it very much depends on the city and the barber himself ..in the European part of Turkey you'll get just few seconds of head and face massage , and that's it
the guys grey hair came in with a strange pattern on the video but i'm sure it was fine in reality. notice the 2 fourteen year old boys helping. probablly family of the barber or apprentice barbers. they even massaged his calfs with an electrical massager. the whole thing would cost $50 with the massage in the us if you could find a place that will perform this. in turkey this is all for about $5. if it existed near my house, then i would be there every other week
best hairdressers are in Turkey. you get full service for nothing. they examine and cut your hair with the attention of a doctor giving you a surgery...
This is a real treat! The only dissapointment was to see that they are now using electric powered hair cutting machines. I am a fan of scissors and the way they used to use them, like a percussion instrument.
@RolMaster, Your children studied all the time and they became cops. Damn, that's pitiful. I've never met a cop that wasn't a lowlife and had an attitude.
I hope you gave them a big tip! Going into something like that ..... that intense... you prob knew how much they would be worth a lavish hand out .... lol they are top of their trade....
@metalheadtilimdead12 Actually he is an Apprentice Barber. My Turkish Co-worker explained that many young men work for 5-10 years under Masterbarber sweeping the floor then slowly move up the ladder till they can work on customers hair then eventually get to level of shaving them.
God! I live in Antalya! Where is that barber shop! Generally you pay 10 Liras (=6 USD) for half of that treatment ; which includes haircut, beard cut, ear hair removal, a light sculp massage and some neck and upper back massage. But this guy obviously gives a extraordinarily special treatment. Massage of calves? I've never had that! I believe the custemer have paid around 10-15 USD.
A bitch is a female canine. It is also a common English profanity for a woman that typically carries denigrating or misogynistic overtones—such as resemblance to a dog. It is also used to characterize someone who is belligerent and unreasonable, or displays rudely intrusive or aggressive behavior.
Every year, after arriving home in turkey, it is the first thing that i do (after a bath of course)!! i always have been to the barber ;))) haircut, shave and a 5 minute massage costs only 8 million :D
Why can't there be services like this in the US? Here, I pay $15 for a haircut that lasts 5-10 minutes. I'm lucky if they wash my hair. There is no shave, no straight razor neck trim, no ear hair or nose hair removal, no massage, and I leave feeling all itchy from hair being carelessly allowed to fall inside my shirt. Also, I usually have to go home and trim all the hairs they missed myself. All this and I'm expected to tip them a few dollars!
yea i would be less stressed if i didnt have to pay between 12-15 bucks just for a cut and not even a wash :( atleast give me a wash for that price lol business are getting to greedy and lazy
At first I wondered what kind of a haircut he was giving the guy, but at the end I noticed the barber made him look very good. The entire treatment was great. I can't wait to visit Turkey. Everything seems wonderful, the food, the barbers etc. I've met a couple of Turkish immigrants in Canada and they impressed me a lot, very kind and gentle people. Nice video
