I made the mistake of searching for ultramagnetic today, and listened to something they made "recently." It was garbage. Then I happened to click on this, and remembered why I used to be such a fan.
Will Keith ever stop making Kutmaster Kurt-styled junk?
kurt is a great producer if you want to sound like you're rapping over the preset beats on a twenty year old Casio keyboard. Compare the Ultramagnetic sound, the DJ Spooky album "Riddim Warfare," Black Elvis, Dr. Octagon, etc. to any of the Kurt-produced junk Keith has put out and the difference is obvious.
lol kurt produced a couple songs on doc oct...and did alot of work on blk elvis...i liked his production on masters of illusion and sextyle as well as dr dooom....
Shit! I was just searching for the original cus I had the sudden urge to listen to it...and stumbling upon this just made my day completely. MAN BLESS UP TO YOU AND YOURS!
The laid back jazzy vibe let's you chill while you focus on the vocals and lyrical content, which are pushed further to the foreground. Ultramag mastercrafters. Love it!
dud...! i thought the original was the dopest ultramagentic mcs track; listened to it for ages, never got bored. Then i suddentl fall upon this. liek wow! illest production ie heard in a while. and its got a fokin nice flow. Word!
it may have been don that did, he was nasty on the trax and i believe was responsible for most of the production on 4 horsemen. Yo! good looks 4 this, neva heard it b4, i loved the original but i miss joints like this, simple but raw with a clssic break beat... crazy!! Hip hop yo!! i miss her...
It's cool to see a youngster with such a great appreciation of all things-from the Negro Leagues-to BDP-to-Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five etc.
