You sound like one of them free thinking liberals who has no problem with perverts walking nude in public & having sex with whatever, no parental guidance in your life-anything goes-rings & tattoos & stupid pretty little American Bimbos who's #1 priority is tattoos & piercings & their emo sissy yuppie pencil neck sex partners who call them Bitch, wait 20 more years you'll be nothing in the work environment because nobody will want you & your education level low, only Asian women will get respect
@RudeComment ..of course, in 20 years, most of employed, successful society will have tattoos. You'd be surprised how many of them already do :) don't try to categorise people in general based on their desire to have tattoos. And certainly don't try to evaluate their upbringing when you're spending your time being small-minded and laughable on Youtube! lol
How is it that girls can just POUR their emotions onto paper like this? If I write a letter, it would be a lot more like this... "Dear Dad, you will always be my rock, and I will always love you." - Johnny
@DrewDriscollable I try to pray for everyone weather they believe or not. I am praying that Christopher Hitchens fully recovers from cancer. He is an intelligent funny and a very good writer and I have read his book God is not great. It would be a great loss if he were to pass away. Even though he does not believe he says it is nice that we are praying for him. Keep watching!
@Wildcard120 I guess I see your point and I guess it is very nice of you for the sentiment but just understand that you are replying to a video in which it supports the Atheist community and not all comments like this are going to be well accepted.
your story touched me. i am about to do the master cleanse and thats how i came across this. i am severely obese (docters words) and i just wanted you to know in a strange way this story inspired me becasue i dont want my children to have a book to read back on becasue of my weight. stop by and subscribe so you can see my process every now and then. sending my love
Yeah, my grandfather passed away recently and the atmosphere tends to change quite dramatically. We didn't so much talk more about him as just avoid jokes and generally keep a sombre atmosphere. Well, at least my dad was finally able to quit smoking, that was a plus.
People never really die....they "Graduate" if you will...This fleshy, boney, soul surrounding mass is only the beginning hun...Stay positive and ALWAYS keep you're head up. *God Bless*
I'm glad you made this video and shared your story. My mom died in 2007 and I just went through all of the cards and notes that people sent before/after she passed. It was kind of therapeutic. Thanks and God Bless!
Thank you for sharing that. I think if everyone were to be as open and kind as you express yourself in your videos, the world would be such a better place to live in. You continue to serve as a good example of what an atheist can be. For that you have my admiration and respect.
It crushed me when you said that your step-father couldn't speak for the last two months of his life. But in a way, it must be nice having his words documented, because the memory sometimes fades over time.
I happen to be on day seven of the master cleanse diet so I typed that in, and found your video which was just what I needed even though it wasn't about the diet. I'm coming up on the one year anniversary of my mothers death which was April 11, 2007 and am still dealing with the pain of losing her. Thanks for sharing the letter you wrote, it was beautiful....
all kidding aside , i feel for you as much as i am mentally capable. stay peaceful. care about the things you care about. and keep on rocking in the free world.
you seem like a very lovely person, from the soul outward. caring is hard to come by. if this is some kind of crystal cult, i'll definately read the literature.
that is a beautiful letter to your dad, I am sorry about your loss. However, souls are eternal, just know that even though he is not your dad anymore, he is still around :)
Hey cool video! I'm doing the Master Cleanse right now and I decided to write a song each day I'm on it. Come check 'em out and rate 'em so I know what you think. Thanks and be well! Peace in the streets...
of standards or a set definition of good? And if there's no set means of defining good then how is being 'good' rationally defensible? What's rational about doing something for which there is either no reward or no penalty and no assurance that the deed will remain classified as 'good'?
My personal experience has been that those most ready to openly proclaim the absence of God are those most prone to dwell upon death. I have a great aunt who was very adamant in proclaiming at our family reunions how none of us could prove that our ancestors lived on, or God's existence. When her husband died she went to his grave daily for years.
It clearly makes sense for people who don't believe in an afterlife to fear death. To us, death is the end of EVERYTHING. Wouldn't you be afraid of that?
Petting an angry dog is not inevitable, at least not for me. I'm not saying there aren't things to fear, I'm just saying obsessing over some of them is not going to alter their reality and eventual occurring.
Hmm, well, it's a question I ask myself all the time. It's not easy to answer. I don't really have time to go into it right now, but the bottom line is, ceasing to exist is a scary concept.
However, it's far more ridiculous to fear death if you actually believe in an eternal life. In that case, what is there to be feared?
That makes sense, but all you have to do is make good choices. I still have a personal moral obligation to make good choices, yet no matter how many amazing things I do in my life or how many people I help, when I die, it could still be the end.
Repercussions implies that you will be rewarded for your good actions. I have no such motivation.
When someone I care about passes away, I don't think I will ever see them again. It would be an amazing comfort to believe they were watching over me.
What is obligating you (vis a vis morals)? Why is it obligating you? What is the determinant for morality? What's logical behind doing something for which there is no motivation and no assurance of any lasting meaning? If rationality is the clarion call for you then what's rational about adhering to any set

Well the idea that choices we make have repercussions that go on indefinitely. That can invoke both fear and hope.
