You had the powered car of another set and replaced the shell with a work train car shell? Where or who did that for you because I've thought of that for a while but wanted to see someone else do it first and yours looks great! Love your setup.
i had the first non-scale D train set....i used the powered chasis from that set and swapped body shells, then i sold the D train as unpowered to one of my buddies.
it's a simple swap...4 screws hold the body shell on
