you make the best chess videos on youtube! I've watched all the popular ones, and yours out class theirs in every way! Keep it up! Much appreciated on the viewer side!
I think it might be because if Nxd4, then black has Nc5 which discovers attack on the white knight on d4. Knight cannot be moved since white has two attacks on white bishop on d3... and if white chooses to defend the knight after Nc5 is played, then e5 for black is winning... exploiting the pin. Hope that was helpful Traceur, not entirely sure if that is right but it looks like the proper continuation after Nxd4.
wait sorry, Nc5 is very bad for black because of Bxb5+, ignore what I said below. I think then the idea is to play Bb7 if Nxd4, then if white castles black plays b4 or Rg8
What happens if white plays Nxd4 instead of castling? Doesn't that threaten Nxb5/Bxb5 as well and stop black from playing Nd5 or Nc5 because of Bxb5+? Or is white overreaching and neglecting his king safety too much somehow? I don't see any really dangerous attack for black after the pawn grab on Nxd4, and it just seems like white is a pawn down, and going to be 2 pawns down with no compensation. I know i'm missing something really simple, but someone please enlighten my patzer self.. thnx.
At 3:57, what happens if white plays Nd4 instead of castling. Is the long bishop diagonal and half open g file and lead in development going to be too much for white to handle?
Rybka gives Nxd4 Qb6, and then after Nb3 Bb4+ it thinks white is equal at least..(at 18 depth, and -0.03 at 19 depth). Tricky position for the computer i think. I don't really know how to use it properly and my level of chess understanding sucks(as i've previously stated), so if you could run it through your own program and give me your own take on the Nxd4 variation, i would be much obliged.
@ex0duzz I was thinking about exactly the same thing! @Kingscrusher, he is referring to the position at 03:55. Why doesn't White play 13. Nxd4, preventing 13. ...Nc5 with the threat of 14. Bxb5+. There might be something obvious I'm missing but I don't see it. Thx a lot in advance!
just a thought- when making multiple videos with a similar subject, it would be convenient for us, your devoted subscribers, if the videos were linked- as video responses, etc... thanks again for your tireless efforts!
Kingscrusher you rock my socks off with your analysis :) I avoid queens pawn openings like the plague but will definitely give it a go now. Great game and video as always.

at 7:54, why doesn't black just fork the two minor pieces with e3? It is just scared of Rcxc8 Bxc8, then a6?

Another excellent vid. ALways enjoy your stuff. Intelligent analysis, not overly complex, but make sure the themes get across.
