They explain later that the Cartel didn't intend to kill him so I'm pretty sure they shot at his feet to scare him since, you know, shooting him might do some harm. Yeah.
first was the walking dead inside the low life ganters and white trash junkies
then became some kind of fast food battle between mexican cartel and DEA bald guy chasiing the leads.
and THEN it was the secret war between badass kind´two badmothefuckers nerd (science against the evil industry of fried chicken) for the soul of a wannabejunkie kid
next CIA a DC wil be behind a secret project to induce to people in fastfood junkie against mexican fast food industry.
Gus is one of the most badass characters ever. He can go from being the nicest, straightest, most pleasent people you could meet to a hardcore sociopathic badass
Walt killed Gus, a man that was so feared and respected that the Mexican cartel wouldn't kill him even when given ample opportunities. You'd better fucking believe there are going to be some serious repercussions for Walt.
@the1musiclad In episode 8, the cartel boss said the only reason he didn't kill Gus was because he "knows who he is". If it wasn't fear then there was at least something about Gus that made Eladio not want to kill him.
@dunder567 - I wasn't thinking of the flashback. He's got some sort of army or governmental history. This would suggest respect more than anything else.
If Eladio (or the cartel, or Hector for that matter) feared him, would he have really allowed his friend (cousin, brother, whatever he was) to be shot right in front of him?
The most likely repercussions for Walt in S5 will come from Jesse or Hank I think. Although Marie killing Walt is an outside possibility.
@yajo891 Yeah I guess. Rubbed off as sarcasm. Usually when people use the phrase "I like that" it is sarcastic. Hard to tell if something is sarcastic or not on the interweb since you can't see faces or hear inflection of words.
What he meant with it was obviouly that in movies/tv, they tend to fuck up by the sound coming before the bullet. This is not the case with this scene - he likes that.

@dunder567 - I thought they wouldn't kill Gus because he was their only way of distribution north of the border, which is nothing to do with fear.

When your firing a high caliber rifle from like 1.2 miles away, that is how it sounds. Delayed but deadly.
