@Schutzraumtechnik999 provokation mit nationalsozialistischen elementen gehört beim industrial halt dazu.(ich meine echten industrial in seiner urform).leute mit verklemmter politischer sichtweise setzen anschliessend gerüchte in die welt.so funkionierts.
@Starduster93 Whitehouse's older stuff seems pretty weak from what I heard. I mean Total Sex and previous releases were good and everything but it just wasn't a complete sensory overload like later stuff. Maybe it's just because recording technology at the time wasn't good enough to capture the full power.
@squezey1 I remember people buying WHITEHOUSE-recordings for the sole purpose of selling them later at high prices. I don´t know anybody who actually did listen to WHITEHOUSE before their "Great White Death" came out.Actually the WHITEHOUSE sound did improve with the label change. I think their "Thank your lucky stars" was their best record.
@Starduster93 Oh so that's why they are so insanely high priced with even newer releases. I just discovered noise and power electronics a few years ago and I think the way prices are treated with them is just stupid because past a certain price point not even most collectors would want to buy them. $60+? No way unless I have one huge gift card to use to buy it with.
@squezey1 The point is that noise will never be big sellers, so only small labels will release only small numbers of copies; just enough to have the few customers satisfied. If then all copies are sold out and there is still a demand, prices will rise quickly. So I suggest, if you want copies of your favorite bands you make sure you get them immediatley after the release, because chances for a re-release are low.
@squezey1 I personally find noise an interesting counterpoint to modern day pop-music. And I find only a few bands worth listening to. My faves are GENOCIDE ORGAN (so great from up front!!), CON DOM, THE GREY WOLVES and SLOGUN. There are some others that have done good releases but you have to go through them piece by piece. I like to have distorted vocals.
The reason why i never became a dancer, because this video wasn't longer I SWEAR I cant watch enough of this, ITs like my religion i watch this every morning before school while i eat captain Crunch with the little crunch berries in em .
@Crucial1s Yeah. If nothing else, I could imagine that if you drugged someone and made them watch this, it'd make them forget the past month of their life just so they don't have to remember this thing.
@MrNofreedom Sort of? This and a few other artists were the experimental birth of Industrial music. Great advances in audio synthesis were also driven by the experimenters. A single synth unit in 1979-1980 could easily run 40,000-60,000 dollars. Being uncommon and expensive and terrible at reproducing/mimicking real instruments, what else was there to do but test the limits of music itself. When does music cease and become pure noise?
@Morbidlynx1 well music really is subjective. To me this is noise but if anyone can hear something in this I don't then listen to it all you want. The only time i can see myself listening to something like this is in a torture chamber
@Skorpp13 haha yeah really! i like this, a lot of their stuff is not for me (chirpy hissy noise) but then i am looking at it as 'music'. whitehouse probably fits in the 'art' category better. they can be really fucking powerful live. especially when it comes to clearing out a room ;)
@rycal1 Throbbing Gristle are a bunch of narcisstic atention whoring smart arses, who think they're left wing by fucking around with the occult in their recordings. Whitehouse is William Bennett's vision of what real punk music should sound like, as according to what the sensationalist media wrote about it at the time.
@MithgarthWorm Sorry, I find them boring; and guilty of what you accuse TG of being. However, if you'd like to recommend any particular tracks, etc, I'm ready to try again. For myself, music trumps attitude or concept pretty much every time.
@WhoopMQ Yeah I like power electronics but didn't like Whitehouse at first because I was expecting the usual constant ear shattering wall of shit but a lot of their noise unless tracks with more emphasis on the noise takes the backseat and the vocals are where the real power is. Now I really like Whitehouse, very unique artist whose music has an effect like nothing else I ever heard before.

@MegaLamka Whitehouse along with early Neubauten were major influences for japnoise bands. Whitehouse considered themselves as a sort of successors of Throbbing Gristle by intensifying the sound of Gristle's early work. I think Whitehouse's third album is really where to come to their "own" sound. Later albums have more abstract, but still very touching and thought provoking lyrics.
@rockyrigby This is "Noise" and it's supposed to be very different from the rest of the music.
Some people have the hobby of taking the most intense chili peppers they can find and shove them right in their fucking mouths. It hurts them, yes, but they like it, in a way, of course, very different from how they can like an apple pie or an ice cream.
@Thor22289 Like me, as I have a noise music collection, I also have a small hot sauce collection. Take a drop or 2 if your completely insane of 1 million scoville unit pepper extract while listening to some harsh noise. Perfect combination, try it.
The third dimension is a theoretical realm of space and time in which the particles and dark matter in this parallell, alternate reality bend light to collide with the electrical charges in our brains to create the illusion of movement.
I'm loving all these comments from people that have never heard power electronics before, lol. I wish I could see all of your faces the first time you watched this video.
@lusciousboom I actually think there is a thin line between just noise and power electronics. Power Electronics tends to be more directly powerful and structured most of the time than noise music even when compared to the harshest noise. I have one power electronics release I picked up a few weeks ago called Spectre of History's Design by The Cathode Terror Secretion on vinyl. I turned the volume to max and it blew my face apart and scattered my brains all over the wall. Loved it. I had no face.
@duffymcgraff You were riding a uplifted chunk of ocean water you cut into a cube with a butter knife into the ever color changing sun when all of a sudden you were brought down by a chunk of falling sky which revealed a black hole that sucked you into a endless whirl pool of physically manifested rage and became noise itself and so here you are now watching what you once were. Don't worry though it is quite common. Happened to my friends many times.
@broilet Lyrically speaking, sometimes the things that are the hardest to hear that people really don't want to listen to are the things we need to hear the most. Musically speaking it can be translated and/or interpreted in many different ways from heartbeats in a state of fear from the unknown and/or change/self discovery or something more personal. Like most acquired tastes once to start liking you discover something and/or translate something new every time you listen to it.
@HybridMoments13 I.m completely agree with you. As for my last comment, I don.t know if it was ambiguous but I just wanted to express, in an ironical way, my liking for this kind of music.
