What I did was plug in a HDMI cable from my computer to HDTV, both of course having an HDMI outlet. Then I just set the channel to HDMI and poof, my computer screen was there. I had to change the screen resolution to make it fit, but it worked.

My laptop and my HDTV both have the HDMI slot, I'm going to try using a HDMI cable tomorrow to display my games and movies on the TV...

no if you set it to "just scan" or "16:9" it works perfectly at 1080p resolution :P check out my vid on my page I took a vid of the HDMI games

You must have one of the newer 1080P Samsung's, because most sets don't have that "Just Scan" feature.

I see, I need to pick up a Samsung then, my Sharp Aquos doesn't have a 1:1 pixel configuration (AKA "just scan" option), so anything that is connected through the HDMI port is overscanned, and about an inch of all four corners it cut off, which really sucks.

In the mean time (until I can afford a new TV) I'm going to try and get a VGA to component cable and try connecting it that way. I read somewhere that overscan only happens through HDMI or DVI on my TV so hopefully this will work.

When the tv and pc are connected, will the pc be able to use the tv's speakers, or will I still have to use my pc speakers to hear sound with my pc?
