  • They look funny XD

  • 1:22 --> forehand topspin: the origin

  • in this trousers i couldn't play... :D

no leg working in this times

  • barna perfected the backhand-don't forget this was well before sponge and stroke technique particularly the chop was the rule of the day-my dad watched barna play many times in england and he used to tell me stories-despite being injured in a car accident in 1935 which required a platinum plate in his right arm-he was never quite the same after although very competetive thru his forties.my opinion is that the game was more enjoyable to watch before the deceptive sponge bats.love the video.

  • My dad was rated in the top ten table tennis players in Minnesota and played with some classic local heavy hitters like Doug Mayday, Alan Goldstein, Brandon Olson and Charlie Disney (all on par with Dick Miles). My dad revered Barna. My father would spot me 15points and beat me every time - and I was better then than now and a vast majority of people can't beat me.

  • This is some bad ass shit! Thanks for the post - wow!

  • i can beat these guys

  • @georged2011

You wouldn't even be able to beat Marty Reisman today... Your match would look like that recent McDonald's commercial ;-)

  • @VS08540 its feesable i could beat him, the technology has moved on a hell of a lot rubber wise and technique, and iv beaten seniors in the top 100 b4

  • @georged2011

I don't know your level, but you'd have to be a serious club player to have a chance against Marty Reisman - even today, he is still playing around USATT 1900. The best hardbat players have a higher rating than 98% of tournament players using "modern" rubber. Technique is more important than equipment.

  • LMAO at the technique......

  • Great to see the Barna flick at last.

  • very cool, table tennis titans from the past!

love to see the techniques and styles... barna's backhand flick looks DEADLY! lol at reaisman's "chop-spin-move", but dude works it well!

  • Don't show this or i'll dye of laughing! What a technique ROFL

  • @ttstefano92 you are an ignorant piece of crap. You are the scum of the earth and you should die. These are the two greatest ping pong players of all time and would beat your whiny little ass like it was their job

  • Grat video!!! Is funny see haw the technique has changed with the pass of the time!

  • 0:27 too much testosterone....

  • No Technique , no footwork back then..

  • @TTStefano92 0:27 too much testosterone....

  • great table tennis! but skinny players..compared to today

  • Victor Barna, greatest table tennis player ever lived. Waldner, Ma Lin and Wang liqin have to be excused

  • What's with their stance? o.0

  • awesome pants xDD

  • sexy pants

  • they´re my examples

  • awesomeee!!!!!

  • LMAO - HOW FUNNY IS THIS?!

  • awesome!

  • The flip at 1:04 !!

  • killer backhand!i'm wondering if they are still alive...someone should interview these guys

  • @billalphonso79

    Barna died in 1972.

Marty Reisman lives in New York and still plays hardbat - there are some recent clips on YouTube (Letterman show, interview etc.).

  • wat a backhand!!!

  • Is that Morgan Freeman narrating?!

  • @Deobfuscator I think I believe you...

  • fascinating!!! They break a lot of modern day rules (such as staying low) but it's still a very high skilled match.

  • Very intriguing to see how the sport has grown to what it is like today!
