  • the new twitter is width:1349 pixels - height:680 pixels

  • How did you get the measuring thing at the top?

  • @RaWClanFTW - View>Show Rulers.

  • when i add my background and press save changes, it goes to a white page saying its not available and giving me ideas,

  • @KidureeTV Double check your file size and make sure it is within the limits of the Twitter upload.

  • @KStohl1 How do you fix the file size?

  • @LuceDesigns when you save out as a jpg, you can change the slider to lower the file size. It will show you an approx. file size under the OK/Cancel buttons. Otherwise, if you follow the size I set up in the beginning it should be ok.

  • Miss LPX - JPG is perfectly fine for this application and is lossless if saved properly. JPG only looses quality if you save out multiple times or increase the compression to the point that you sacrifice quality.

  • big mistake... jpeg files actually lose the quality, png files are better compressed files and the contain the quailty ..

  • choose* excuse my fail spelling kinda late at night here.

  • Awesome Video ! You are looking for twitter service. Visit GotFollowersOnTwitter . c o m

  • my rulers are not like yours?

  • is it the same with photoshop cs5??

  • My ruler is counting by ones ??

  • @BridqetteBTV Right click on the ruler and chose pixels.

  • i want photoshop :(

  • Very neat and concise little tutorial. Very good thanks :)

  • thanx it helped a lot

  • thanks :D

  • how do you make a background like that? 1:33 , really need help !

  • Do you know if the background img is centered horizontally or is it left aligned on twitter?

The twitter container seems to be around 880px wide, so i'm wondering, as centered would make it easier to design irrespective of user browser size.

    Thanks Kstol1

  • Hi Liquid,

The image is aligned left on purpose. Having it centered would position it directly over the twitter container obstructing any information you post unless you design a larger image, but you have to consider two things - other peoples browser window sizes, not just your own and the image size restrictions for twitter. I have information I want people to read so I keep it left and away from the container.

  • how do you change the top to 200 pixels like you did.

  • I used guides set to 200px on both the vertical and horizontal sides. My completed image had both guides set.

  • @KStohl1 so where do you go to get that though i dont understand.

  • Hi Squishyxo,

You drag your guides down from the rulers in Photoshop. You have to understand the basics of Photoshop to do this exercise.

  • Q:

On my lab top which is a Dell the custom picture come out perfect. However, when it is veiwed on another computer it is really off. What is the problem....... Mossy

  • It really depends on the size screen, browser and the size of the window. Remember, the Twitter feed floats in the page, so if it is a smaller window, it can still cover up your image.

  • mine always comes out very big and never really fits my screen res. is normal.

  • Check to make sure you are working in 72 dpi in Photoshop. Also, if you have another screen resolution, such as widescreen or smaller than the one listed here, adjust your file size to match. Its really about how others view it rather than you.

  • ok thanks

  • thanks its great.

  • thanks!!!
