@xeonhl2 it's a celeron based on the pentium III structure. celeron just means that it's a pentium without as much cache. it's still not terrible, i only kept mine around to lan with my 360 to play halo 2, but now i'll probably use it as a server.

yes you can. however, if you're gonna install you can choose between installing it to the whole disk and whipe out all your data or you can choose to install it on a single partition. some distros like xdsl also enable you to frugal install or loopback install to run it from just a few files on the same partition as your dash

xbox360 is an entirely different type of hardware.

you should use Xebian 1.0.0.4, its way faster(when its loaded, booting is still alittle slow) and pretty much the same, ubuntu linux is a newly coded kernel for the xbox.
To vampman67, why would you need more to run linux? Linux is a low-demanding operating system, and requires almost nothing to run. 64MB of Ram and an 8-10GB hard drive (xbox specs) is enough. DId you not witness it in this video?
microsoft used off the shelf parts to build the xbox. The prototypes used AMD chips but...it was intel who made all this happen :D Microsoft careless left the A20 Gate wide open, along with a few backdoors.

because some servers run on windows only not linux. People use this as a mini server. Plus many people like windows.

To vampman67, why would you need more to run linux? Linux is a low-demanding operating system, and requires almost nothing to run. 64MB of Ram and an 8-10GB hard drive (xbox specs) is enough. DId you not witness it in this video?

microsoft used off the shelf parts to build the xbox. The prototypes used AMD chips but...it was intel who made all this happen :D Microsoft careless left the A20 Gate wide open, along with a few backdoors.
