Indigo League, Orange Islands League and even Johto League were awesome, exciting adventures, sad farewells, real danger, death... The Movies too. The characters in the 1st season were remarkable, funny and a bit cranky too. The new pokemon look like the devs ran out of ideas (pretty much after the 3rd gen). Team Rocket lost all it's humor gained through their incompetence and just acts as some kind of cannon fodder. The unmeant slapstick humor from the first few seasons has pretty much gone too...
