Didn't catch half of it but still fascinating. Not your fault, wasn't really paying attention.
I loved Technical Drawing at school. Back then of course a compass and a 4H pencil were the weapons of choice. Drew many a chamfered bolt head. Each one, one at a time by hand.
I had a talent for visualizing 3D objects in my head, imagining how they would look when seen from different angles. Not everybody in the class could do that.
The hexagon command or a button that creates the hexagon shape is the one that looks like the painting pallete at the right hand side in the sketch mode below the button with the "A" letter on it.
Nevertheless, I did not really use it in creating this nut. If you have further questions, don't hesitate.
