I know this comment was awhile ago but to answer this tattoos are very taboo and shunned in Japan. Traditional horimono is the most appalling to most japanese. Dir En Grey is one band that used to be VK that many members have tattoos, but their image and fame kind of lets them do what they want without being persecuted or shamed.
