  • Jim Irsay is, without a doubt, the hippest NFL team owner!!

  • March 28, 1984 will long be remembered as the "Night Which Will Live In Infamy". Virginia licensed Mayflower Van Lines vehicles under the cover of night arrive at the BALTIMORE COLTS headquarters in Owings Mills. Robert Irsay, who destroyed a successful franchise and alienated fans, swept the team, the name, the colors, and the history, to a rogue and vagabond city of Indianapolis. After 26 years, this version of Irsay is still as putrid as his old man was. The rage will forever live on.

  • AMEN!!! BROTHER!!!!

  • The city of Baltimore is at fault for the Colts moving. They refused to build a new stadium when the old one was crumbling (quite literally). Then they pass a law in an attempt to steal the team. Irsay had every right to move the team, he owned it not Baltimore. The city forced his hand and he moved the team in the middle of the night because he knew that the state would attempt to steal his company. Indy appreciated the team more and were willing to invest in it. The Colts are better off.

  • Thats why Shaffer is gonna get whacked by the Mafia! You dont have any idea what Baltimores mafia group can do. My grand dad told me about em. Many were Colts season ticket holders and theyre pissed off! Shaffer is living in Honolulu in a compound full of armed guards. You cant get away from these guys. Just like Vito cant get away from Tonys guys. If Colts win another superbowl theyre comming after Shaffers ass!

  • William Hudnut lives in Maryland now. But if i were Governor OMalley i order the chief of Maryland State Police to pull over Hudnut every chance they get and write him up on several moving volations. Whatever is unsafe lane change,Speeding or Wreckless driving. State Troopers have that power if the Governor orders it. Its the only way get Hudnut out of Maryland. And he can bitch to the judge about police harrassing him, And who is the Judge gonna believe? And you cant win in traffic court!

  • What is that feeling when your name is Bob Irsay and you're driving away from Baltimore, giving the middle finger to faithful Colts' fans and yelling "SUCKERS!"

  • I hope Jesus doesnt save him just like he didnt save his dad

  • So harsh. Jim Irsay is nothing like his father.

  • why didnt he do the right thing then? Give the Colts name back to Baltimore just like Art Modell didnt take the Browns name with him when he moved his team to Baltimore.

  • Trust me, I sincerely wish he would have because I'm tired of hearing about it from bitter Ravens fans. At this point, 26 years later, you guys can feel free to get over it any time.

What's even more laughable is that you think that he should be condemned to Hell. For a football team name? Really??

  • As long the refs keep allowing Colts and Pats into the Big Game the rage will continue, If the refs would allow the Ravens win another superbowl then we might forget about what Irsay done and get over it!. But the league wont allow Ravens go to another one becaise what Mr Modell did was controversal. But the NFL didnt look at Mr Irsay and Mr Al Davis did was controversal too.

  • Sure, buddy, whatever you say.

  • Because the name belongs to the organization. The Colts franchise is a private organization and it never belonged to the city of Baltimore.

It was an organization that happened to be in Baltimore and then moved. Why should it change its name? It's still the same team, it just found a new city willing to build them a proper stadium and one that wouldn't try to steal it from its rightful owners.

Oh and this was twenty-six years ago. Get the hell over it.

  • Then why could Art Modell take the Browns name? He bought em! The Browns dont belong to Cleveland it Belongs to Mr Modell.

  • Because they wanted to give the team a name connected to Baltimore. Sometimes do that, but the Colts are in no way unique.

For example, baseball: Dodgers, Giants, Athletics, Braves; basketball: Lakers, Hornets, Warriors; football: Cardinals, Rams, Raiders, Redskins, Chargers.

The sense of obligation to change the team name is relatively recent. Most teams kept their name post move unless the result was really weird (e.g. the Texans moving to Kansas City, name changed to the Chiefs).

  • What if the New York Mets move to Buffalo? Will they become the Buffalo Mets? Or Buffalo Bisons?

  • @jdlund , blowoff....you know nothing!!!!....your probably a redskins fan!!!!!

  • @ravenswinsb35, that was a completely incoherent response. Any particular part of my answer you disagree with or are you just generally ignorant and unable to come up with an intelligent response? BTW, I hate the Redskins.

Pissed off Baltimore people are full of shit when they whine about the Colts moving. Fans stopped coming to the games, the stadium was in shitty condition and the city refused to do anything, and then the city tried to steal the team. They moved, get the fuck over it.

  • He is 3x the franchise owner that his father thought he was...

  • To a great adventure ehh? Like your father did right? LOL, just kidding.
