Awesome vids. I grew up in the Uptown neighborhood in the 60's and into the 70's, and I remember the Gaylords strength and presence at that time. They were allied tightly with the Uptown Rebels,and smaller outfits such as the Wilson Boys, and the Dover Boys...and everybody wanted to waste the Simon City Royals. I was never afraid when the Gaylords were around..

Bishops had a strong presence in Albany park in the 70s (mostly white guys) and also quite a few down with some of the old Italian gangs, Harrison st. Taylor st. etc. I believe the original Bishops were an old Northside white gang.

Brazers not Blazers...

Albany park also had the Lawndale Freaks, and the Freaklords, seemed to be the same club at different time periods.

The Brazers were very big in Uptown, all over that area, and believe it or not there was a tiny pocket of BGDs up towards Broadway and Foster. Foster, from Broadway to the lake was mostly Bishops, nasty little area.

The Blazers in Uptown would not be to hard to believe since they were next door in Ravenswood in the 1980's. The Seeley and Ainslie Gaylord's had many fights against them. Bishops is interesting since they are a Pilsen gang.

I know in ROgers Park there was a Saints gang, but that was a group from Evanston who called themselves the Saints, not the ones from the Back of the Yards. Maybe there was a group guys with the lastname of Bishop, or somethinmg.

I lived on Malden between Wilson and Sunnyside back in 89 and 90. I seriously remember that half-n-half looking dude too (throwing down the eagle set). This set got tossed by the BPS and now where are they?

Two reasons that Uptown went extinct in the area of Sunnyside and Magnolia: 1) The area became yuppie; 2) No one to recruit from.

The BPS and GL were under the same People Nation alliance.

Maybe it was the rebels. I never heard that name though. I only remember such gangs as the Kenmore Boys, Brazers, and Latin Kings sometimes coming over and causing problems. And I can remember two occassions where I was accosted...I was just a little kid.

At any rate, I try not to hate anybody. I associated GL with whatever gang it was that the lowlife bitch that choked me belonged to. It never really haunted me, only left me enraged. You seem respectful tho so thanks for clearing that up.
