so i have a droid a855 that i got on ebay. this mod was built onto my phone when i got it. i hate it. plz can someone ,anyone, tell me or give me a link to a video to let me uninstall this mod! also can someone tell me how to get my camera app back? i lost that and i went into aplication manager and its gone from that too! any help would be much obliged! thanks! i want to go back to my old droid! thanks for any help!

@MrMurder96 Seems this is always the answer I get. Somehow everyone seems to think Cyanogen is the best thing ever yet no one can formulate any type of explanation as to why that is. All I get is a "Really? really?" or a "are you blind?". Seems Cyanogen is just a bunch of hype to me.

My Samsung Captivate has decent hardware, but touchWiz 3.0 is crap bundled with a slow RFS system Samsung uses, i feel like my phone is literally being held back. I rooted, CM7'ed it and its amazing. I don't believe in benchmarks but on Quadrant I went from 875 to 1780. It gives supported devices a quick n' easy way to get a great ROM on it. It adds theming, for some OC'ing, and generally a good experience

You just change your wallpaper and it will ask you from where do you want the wallpaper from and you pick the live wallpapers and you want to choose the nexus live wallpaper. You can also customize a lot about the nexus live wallpaper and make it have a different back drop and also different colors for those lines that are going across the screen.

@24xEBK I had settings for nexus wallpaper, but they were limited (ie could not change length of tail, brightness etc). However, i managed to find nexuskang on the app store. full version costs 99c, and that did the job (4 independent colour settings, size/speed/length of tail etc). i also reflashed an oxygen rom to get that extra smoothness :)

I was wondering... Does the 720p recording perform as good as the stock 720p's on the phones? I used to have a mytouch 4g, and when i used to, i Had cm7 on it. however.. in low lighting, the video would be very choppy and slow. Im wondering if CM7 has anything to do with how it records, or if its just the hardware. (I have a G2X and im wondering if video recording in the dark would be as smooth as stock once I get cm7 on it) thank you

Furthermore, the custom version of Froyo my phone runs has certain applications that I don't want to give up, like Kineto Smart Wifi. Sorry! But I don't find Gingerbread to be worth the upgrade.

@TechSixNine No, gingerbread does not distinguish AM or PM. As for 720p, NO aosp roms support it stock, we have added it to cyanogenmod, which is based on AOSP.

As you can see, this is not the actual Android 2.3 because the kernel version is still as same as 2.2.1.

That means that handling this custom build is kind of a pain, because bugs can occur very often. That, until the actual kernel is being released.
