This was their biggest chart-topping album, alongside the "Spirit Of Love" album. Had a chance to meet these brothers, and they are 100% down to earth! Rest In Peace to Drummer, Louis McCall. That terrible tragedy should've never had to happen to him.

I remember Con Funk Shun being played in my home as a kid in Harlem. It seems as though the black band has "died". Its so sad that our musical history/legacy isn't being preserved or passed on. Hip-hop, and rap are two differen't things. I have to admit, whats out now is garbage. I do like cats like Mos Def, and Common. Granted they hardly get any airplay.

When you look at groups like this and this is just one of the many from back in the day you have to look at the total body of music. These groups had more than just one hit per album not like many of today's groups or artists. They look for that one hit try and make as much as they can and then they are gone.

No doubt. Late 70's early 80's these groups were off the charts. Confunkshun, Lakeside, The BarKays, Cameo, and those I forgot to mention. This is true funk. Back in the day you didn't need a DJ, all you had to do was put on an album and you could party all night. Do it Confunkshun. And yes, this shit still sounds good....

This album ROCKS from beginning to end with some great love song/ballads mixed in. Too Tight, Lady's Wild, Pride and Glory, Kidnapped!, and Play Widit will keep you on the dance floor. The ballad "Can't Say Goodbye" makes you want to take that special someone you met at the dance party or skating rink home with you for the "after party". just great great music from a group that was outstanding. ConFunkShun stills performs onthe raod so catch them if you can.

I(stil)have this on vinyl but nothing to play it on anymore. Where can I find it on disc? With the exception of the no horns, THIS is quintessential ConFunkShun! This album came out as part of a Japanese limited edition reissiue program a few months ago. Should still be some copies available via Amazon 3rd party sellers and/or on E-bay (usually as a bidding item). Wish it was released domestically here in the US though, shame...

Boy... did you bring back some memories of the 70s and 80s... skating every friday and saturday night... jammin' with the rest of the "rink rats" to ConFunkShun and other great skating tunes! Remember "Double Dutch Bus" and "Rock, Skate, Roll, Bounce"? I just got the "Touch" CD on eBay from Japan. WONDERFUL! I "retired" from skating about five years ago (actually SOLD my skates and shed a few tears of joy); but the MEMORIES will last forever with all the good r&b music we had back then.
