sounds like you just got a bad built, because the n82 and n95 8GB are nokia's 2 best phone, and favored by many people. The Black is supposed to have some improvements over the silver, being that it came out half a year later.

Dont go for dis phone,
lots o problem, with speakers (mine wit for a toss in 1 day),
i heard nearly all n82 blacks have da right speaker conking off
sooner or later , (got repaired though by nokia fo free,
but a waste of good 3 hrs waiting), the call reception on da ear piece
aint good at all, da software is very laggy sometimes,
da only best part is da camera...crisp & clear pics...
da keys r bit cramped, but it takes gettin used to, shell a bit more & go for da n79...

which is better, n85 or n82, besides pic quality, im interetsed in the features too! i dont know which one to buy, hard to decide!

The N85's 3g frequency works in The US, the N82s doesn't. This only matters if you have AT&T, though.
N82 has 3-D graphics hardware accelerator. N85 doesn't.
Personally, the N85 looks very cheap compared to the N82. The N85 also looks like a fake iPhone.
Sliders have flex cables that can easily become damaged. Sliders are less sturdy.
