  • i believe in god but i dont believe in religions !being religious means being a lazy ass!!!!

  • Did he say 90% of the nobel lauriettes he interviewed weren't religious? Did he interview all the living ones? Where can I watch all these interviews?

  • Prayer doesn't work. It never has and it never will. Even major religious organisations have proved that, much to their disappointment. They were trying to prove that it did.

Praying is just a way that ineffective people can do something completely useless, but feel they are really making a difference.

"give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. Teach a man religion and he'll starve to death praying for a fish."

  • Yes, the amputee regrowth miracle is the one to look for. It has never existed nor will it. "People of faith" try that one on for size. Give me one example - verifiable.

    Of course, sigh, you can't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Global citizenship? Kroto is an illuminatti

  • Once again people of faith take it on the chin. We are used to that by now. Oh and to physicsGuuerilla that course of action would be very foolish. We are told to "occupy unil He comes" translation get a job a place to stay with some clothes on your back and food to eat. Even the Aposle Paul used his tentmaking skills to pay for room and board on his trips. Keep watching.

  • Good video. Although a bit one sided because there are families, really good examples of religious based families, who in their view "don't do the sinful things" as they fill the holes in ones life with addictions instead of solid bungs which scientists would call a eureka moment as they discover these things for themselves by being questful instead of conclusionary...however religion at its best works, from getting from a to b.

  • we believe what makes us feel safe.

  • there are things that science tried to prove with us ndns....they couldnt explain it...nor can we...they had a scientist go in a sweat lodge alone with a medicine man...he saw things in there that were a shock to him...he told his felllow scientists what he had saw and they didnt believe him..lol! Bottom line go with what works. If science works for you then go with it. and let the praying people pray. Idea's are one reason why people kill each other...my idea is better than yours kinda deal.

  • @Miyedo this is not proof or motivation of why we should go with something that works at best randomly.

  • I challenge the faithful to cut of their legs and pray for god to grow out new ones.

    I dare you.

  • Science has the technology, science can innvovate, science will win!

  • This is brilliance, just stuff the knowledge down the creationists thought!

  • hahahahah last line was over the top xD

  • Thanks for posting this series.

  • Supernatural is natural, we don't know the meaning of natural.

  • @usergently

That makes no sense at all.

  • @usergently In my opinion there is Natural and Unnatural, meaning that if it is natural it is part of nature and if it is not part of nature it is unnatural. Science is a way to study the natural and determine if it is natural or not. Science is not a closed subject and not everything has been studied so what we call supernatural has not been explained by science yet. People like to come to their own conclusions without evidence, call it supernatural and believe their opinion is above nature.

  • @usergently, that doesn't mean anything. Why make such a pointless statement?

  • Not if they ALL do it....

    Peace.

  • Try This... ALL you Faithful....ALL people in ALL religions quit your Job, give all your money away, then pray for food and money to pay your bills. Now, wait for your prayers to be answered. I will wager that you will starve and lose your house before your god answers your prayers. Just take the leap of faith if you dare..

  • @PhysicsGuerrilla

Heheh, they're not THAT faithful or trust THAT much in their all-loving god...

  • your just making shit up now to suit the Point.. your dumb and if you were smart you would know god is fake

  • There is always a fundamental incompleteness of knowledge, learn about Kurt Godel's Incompleteness Theory. Scientific theories (working models of reality) are true in the sense that there can be predictions of measurable results that would logically invalidate the model. The essence of science is trying to figure out ways to prove an idea wrong.

  • What is the means of falsification for this model of a God/Universe? (Correctly called Pantheism) If you can even come up with a genuine test of falsification for any spiritual model of reality you would become one of the most important figures in the history of both science and religion. If you have even the first clue to working out such a thing, get working on it.

  • We got to get to young kids rite said lad. Tho we got to get them with not example but the raising of incentives to read and educate themselves in the world of the written word from history to poetry. To fuel them with INCENTIVE to go down to their emotional lego shops and buy those pieces that they can use in their own custom built castle. To let them in the world of knowledge and petrified time and help them form a free thinking self built onto that knowledge. every aspect included.

  • What the problem with reducing birth rates? There's enough people in the world as it is, the last thing we need is more people.

  • You completely missed the point. It's not in an individual's interest to increase the number of non-relatives, rather the opposite. . And it doesn't matter whether your [opposite of ancestor]s are human or not.

  • "And almost all forms of education is harmful by reducing birthrates as much or more than the death rates."

Really? With the current population, I don't see it as a bad idea but a GOOD one.

Had the human population been much much lower, say 1 million the message could have been the complete opposite.

  • therock27374

I obviously meant harmful to the ones receiving the education. Do you think not existing is "GOOD" for the ones not existing?

Had the content of the education been different, the outcome could have been different.

  • Sorry, science gave enough food and water to feed and water 2 billion poeople that would be notably dead if science hadn't been used instead of praying.

Prayer is inherently inferior to enginearing.

  • Strettger

Given that humans are the dominant species on earth under no foreseeable threat of extinction from other species and that science lets everyone benefit from it's advancement more or less the same, increasing the amount of people total is not in anyones real advantage, and thus science is pointless unless kept secret from outsiders and inherited like non-human culture is.

Why did you bring up prayer? I don't endorse prayer or think it works.

  • Strettger

If people didn't benefit from societies' excess of diverse and reliable food sources, people would have had incentives to discover and biologically adapt to new food sources. And we would have had hundreds of thousands of years to diversify to exploit food sources and thus increase the total number perhaps far beyond the current population, even with stone age technology.

  • It's about time. I was raised as a Christian and by age 35 I was free of it. I'm very proud of that achievement.

  • How about putting up a business with the idea of turning the wealth of rich creationists into educational profit of us all. I'm thinking of something like selling EdwardCurrent's prayer amplifier and using the profit for educational programmes in Africa and elsewhere.

  • South Africurr and also in Chinurr

  • dang yo, that guy is old!

  • And you are a genius.

  • And you are a youtube user.

  • You see the difference? I was being sarcastic. The original commenter was just being an ass.

  • And I am just being silly.

  • i don't usealy talk like that.

and i am only human and those compeld to point out the extreemly obvios. as obseverd be ford prifect AKA ix

  • Grammar.

  • please learn to spell. Hell, browsers have spell check now!

  • well i haven't lern how to use them yet

  • Thx for uploading this great video. Im studying pedagogy and i might use one of their excersices in my thesis.

  • beutiful

  • well atleast someone is doing something... i am jellous i was born in a time where it seemed only the privilaged were worried about.

i honestly think like 3 or 4 people were worried about my future, and now that i am here... it kinda shows.

nature vs. nurture? i think it is clear it is both, because i would be a murdering rapist if not for my nature... but i must say nurture is well more than 50% of the equasion. to rely on the biological element of children to become great...

  • well just look at some of the worst places on earth, and look at how the children live, and the generations before them!

you guys are doing a very good thing!

  • only that they use Free/Liberal and Open solutions (EI use as mush Open software as possible)

  • I disagree with this idea of global citizenship (perhaps I'm not understanding what he's getting at) and linking everything together. That's not to say I disagree with spreading education all around the world or people from all different countries collaborating, but I do think science benefits as much from competition as anything else. And as a supporter of sovereignty and personal liberty, the term "global citizenship" itself just rubs me the wrong way.

  • If you even remotely think thats what he meant by that term, you obviously didn't pay attention. He's attempting to get through stupidity, arrogance, and religion to give kids the chance to think for themselves and learn... and you're whining about not wanting to be a global citizen? Well guess what, we're all ALREADY global citizens. Now if only a few more of us would step up like he does... but yeah, you go worry about your "sovereignty" while others do incredible, necessary works.

  • This is the "Zeroeth Law" I stated as an example to comprehend, in order to have sufficient awareness to be qualified as a globel citizen.

"By no action or inaction within their ability, should any sentient knowingly cause or allow harm to come to humanity, as a whole. Intentional or ignorance caused extensive or irreparable damage to our only home, and to its diversity of life, should not be tolerated."

  • DCc, I agree with your reply's intent, with one exception; less than 1% of humanity could be considered global citizen material. No, not the wealthy/powerful elite, but the elite of the critically thoughtful, & globally aware. Such people are not in power, but this must change. Placing emphasis on comprehention of such as the "Zeroeth Law" or similar concepts, is a matter of survival. You, 787Bd and I agree on the key issue; that it's critical to return real thought and learning to education.

  • This automatically eliminates the populace infested with the brain parasites of organized religions. Anachronistic cults demanding that humanity is the inheritor of one idiotic despot deity or another. Those who cannot percieve man as a component in the web of life, are mentally incompetent for global citizenry. Are you both able to concur?

  • don, very much so agree

  • Education is key. Education combats poverty, bigotry, ignorance, and fanaticism. It does so much better than bombs ever could. Violence begets violence.

  • Education proliferates understanding. Understanding is antithetical to hatred.

  • Hear hear!

  • very good

  • Do you have any demonstrable evidence to support this belief in a creator?

  • Let's hear it for sane speak and education for our youth. Shut off the preachers and their lies to our kids. Kids are plugged in to the net and can self learn. This will finally put an end to the woo and the religious bull that clergy perpetuate. The end of the indoctrination is at hand, thanks to the net. Yeah!!

  • Sweet.

Hopefully this will help the newest generation grow up to be sophisticated at critical thinking, unlike "some" wankers today. :)

  • A very good idea!
