wait this isnt CSA!!! this is a grocery store hiding behind a CSA!!!! they are actually ordering vegetables from other farms and putting it into the CSA box. So when you buy a share you are not supporting the farm directly, the middle man is pocketing profit. I thought the idea behind CSA was to directly support the farmer. Safeway will do this soon if CSA picks up in popularity, and you will get a "local" CSA box full of GMO food grown in Nicaragua labeled organic that costs 2 times as much!

I thought the whole idea behind a csa was to buy local. This "winter box" kind of violates that credo, huh?
